Benview,
If you can't get it sold private then take it back to Goldsmiths, they can put it in their window for you and sell it, for a small fee of course You should still get around £1500 for it (better than nothing!). My wife works for Goldsmiths as a watch specialist and that's what she reckons anyway.
Cheers

I am on my third Rolex. No finer watch exists any body who knows Rolex would know that new or preowned they do not go down in value. For those who have doubts contact any rolex dealer in london as they are charging over retail on preowned.Nice watch mate and good price....Best of luck

This advert has been kicking around since the 7th Jan, 6 months now. Although a lovely watch, why dont you try a local jeweller ???
£2K for a watch is a lot of money despite being a good deal. Also, when people see your wearing a Rolex, they instantly think its a fake. So, it questions whether buying a real one is worth it nowadays ??
Your obviously not desparate for the money, due to the length of time trying to sell it on this forum, therefore I would advertise it in The Times or broadsheets.

Simon their is some sort of a mistake with the date this advert was placed, I can assure you this advert was placed approx 8days ago so I have no idea how the dates says January. As you say I am not desperate to sell the watch and whilst I understand what yoiur saying about fakes that is truly a personal thing, If you want a REAL Rolex you buy the REAL Tning if you want a fake then thats what you buy. Ever tried goiing into the Shower , or swimming with a fake? they dont seem to last very long. Someone here on Scoobynet may just see the bargain this watch is if not then I have lost nothing and unlike a fake this watch will never lose money Thanks for your interest Cheers

There seem to be some BIG spenders on there

Benview,
Sometimes you have to look at the market / audience your advertising too. £2K is a lot of money to many of the users of this site, therefore the % of users that this advert will appeal to is going to be low. Also, watches are very personal items and this means that this small number of users is half'ed due to differing tastes.
You might as well go to a rolex dealer, or advertise via a different medium that is far more suited to this product.
Fake Rolex, water ??? The level / quality of fakes nowadays is incredibile. I have a fake Brietling that even confused a Brietling dealer. Dont get me wrong, quality costs, just ask most Sun/Solaris Contractors :-) hahaha, but working in London, I have heard of a few guys that have had thier watches robbed from them. When owning a Rolex, Ive noticed that nearly all owners like to show thier watch off, and why shouldnt they, its a lovely item. However, todays climate displaying a £15K watch isnt such a good idea. Hence why the market of fakes is so large.
Please dont take what Im saying the wrong way, I just think your pushing a very large stone, up a very steep hill by trying to sell an item like this on what is after all a car site.
A friend of mine sold his Rolex, a far more expensive model, design than yourself via the Times. He got a valuation from a dealer, christ knows what he was on, but his valuation was an insult, but my friend used this as a guidline. He sold it very soon via The Times and had plenty of offers.
However, all said and done, with all this talk, you will probably sell it now to someone from this site, and prove me wrong ! ;-)
Best of luck, and BTTT for, what is , a lovely watch.
