So thin? That'll be aids.
Attractive? That depends on your sexual orientation

No rice or pitta Dan I just have a larger portion of meat or whatever it is I'm eating and substitute potatoes etc with salad leaves. Easy, seeing as its summer Even a (specially selected lo-carb) curry is nice with salad.

BTW, if anyone is thinking of buying new digital scales then Argos are selling some that also calculate body fat % too for £29.99 (or at least they were yesterday).

Got me some yesterday, only problem is, they read higher then my old analogue ones By 3 lbs !

Any excuse for a new gadget

Question

How does it calculate bodyfat %, do you know??

By some inbuilt matrix of height/weight? Hopefully not, as that can be very, very misleading!

I don't think they're meant to be mega-accurate but they fire a (tiny) electrical pulse up through your body. It measures resistance somehow - more lard = higher resistance (I think)

Cheers

Kav's right. That and some age/height/gender jiggery-pokery too

You have to take your socks off to use it tho Gives a totally different reading if you don't step on barefoot.

Yep I was amazed to find how low in carbs curry is (some are under 3% carb per 100g) - had a lovely chicken tikka masala for lunch - no rice of course

so on this diet you can each as much meat as you like?

so for instance, you could have 3 bits of bacon, 2eggs for breakfest, tuna salad for lunch, 3 burgers for dinner?

Or is their a limit on the amount of food you can eat?

You eat till you are full. On this kind of food, you fill up on less and stay full for longer I have found!

A week and a half into the induction and I've lost 1/2 a stone. Although for the last 2 days I haven't lost any it seems. I think the culprit is using sweetners in my decaff coffee that contain aspartame :/ should have read the book more clearly I guess. Haven't yet read up on what I can eat after the induction period though, was under the impression you have to limit yourself to 20g of carbs a day, although having read this page it seems that 20g limit is the same as in the induction?

All things green, remember no tomato though!
I buy that bag of mixed leaf salad (crunchy kind) from Tescos. There's enough for at least 3 big plates of salads from them. Usually add tuna & mayo on top

****!!! I just drank 2 big glasses of Fanta Lemon which I thought was diet but its not!!! What is the carb content of that?? What can I do to stop it from pulling me out of ketosis. Remember that when you are out of ketosis it can take a few days to get back into it A sort of stall!!

For all the first weekers remember that your weight loss will slow dramatically in the 2nd week so be prepared for it mentally

Every mayo I checked still has quite a high carb content i.e. 20% per 100g. Are you lot using a particular brand of mayo?

Christian visit This link and click on the carb counter, two thirds down the page on the right. Will tell you roughly how many carbs in most foods. Being american tomato is under vegetables instead of fruit. For the veg your looking for anything that has under 2 total carbs.

Thanks simon, I thought you only go by net carbs? so they aren't that bad, if you go with say a day:

breakfest:
eggs (0.6) x2 : 1.2
3 rashes of bacon : 0.1

lunch:
tuna: 0.0
Lettuce: 0.4
Cucumber: 1.8
Tomatoe chopped: 2.6

dinner:
burger: 0.0
cheese : 0.2
3 rashes of bacon : 0.1

Only gives 6.4carbs

Do salt and pepper count for anything?
