Cool

Stef,

What a JOKE!!!!

I never said I would bottle it (but if you read below, you will understand why you got that impression). I will publicy accept a £100.00 bet with you.

Just to enlighten you (and everybody else) on the WHOLE story:

A) You have basically been reeled in like a fish. Just ask yourself, why do you think Harj has been saying to you today on the phone, that I have no chance of beating 13.5 let alone your time. Also that I am generally a crap driver. This was to lure you into a false sense of security. Basically you have now done publicly what we wanted you to do, and that was to shoot your mouth off and offer brass up for a comp.

B) Harj has now offered to put up from his own pocket £1000.00, that I will smash you down the track. Why? Because he has full confidence in my ability down the strip (he has seen me perform many times before at the POD and AVONWAY, in many different cars). He knows what my launches can be like!!!!

c) So you can't worm your way out of that one, the money can be lent (but as Harj has explained - no payback, BIG TROUBLE)

d) So you can't moan about your feeble UK power, Harj will also pay out of his own pocket for you to get a SUPERSH*T fitted.
Can't say fairer then that!!!

Now do you really think that Harj would risk a single 1p of his money. Like he has said to you before, he is a betting man!

It's funny that Harj has also offered his LOG BOOK against YOURS!!!!!, to race him, but you have said NO!!!

Like they say "YOU HAVE BEEN STICHED UP LIKE A KIPPER"

Forget the 60ft times, reaction & first through the line CRAP. IT'S THE ET THAT EVERYONE WANTS - LET'S GET IT ON!!!!!!!!

I can taste the VICTORY already, boy it tastes good!!!!

You have assumed that I am a crap driver, but we've been playing you like a flute!!

Perhaps you better talk to people, that actually know me - but then if you did, you would never of challenged me in the first place.

Shaun (The Scatman).

P.S. Cheers Harj, I owe you one or two!

ALSO:

As you are so KEEN to put emphasise on reaction times, catch aload of some of these:

All in the cossie:
.784
.881
.790
.723
.739
.668
.828
.716
.790
.751
.726

And some others (that I had forgotten about in another car):
.646
.562!!!!!!!!
.403!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Which you said was impossible, well as Ridge Racer says "Yooour one genius of a driver"
.537!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
.485!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

ALL OF THE ABOVE ARE ON FACTUAL TIMING TICKETS WITH MY REGISTRATION ON (BY THE WAY, NO FALSE STARTS EITHER). AND OF COURSE CAN BE VIEWED AT ANY TIME!!!!!!!

YAWN....this is getting very boring!
Why don't you just look at the facts.....
I have never chalenged you or Harj. You're both challenging me, why, I don't know.
The reason I never accepted either challenge is simply because neither was fair. I don't expect my UK car to whoop 280bhp Scoobs on the strip, and I'm sure nobody else does.
Both of your challenges are akin to Tyson challenging Benn. Sure, Benn would have a chance but Tyson would be expected to win. If you're expected to win there is no challenge.
I don't think anyone else here would seriously consider betting their car in a contest with a far more powerful opponent, certainly not me, and THAT'S the reason I declined. No other, I'm just not that stupid. Just because Harj is loaded doesn't mean we all have to forget the value of things.
And why post all those reaction times if you don't want them included in the challenge??? The only thing I've said about them is that 0.400 is perfect, any better than that and it's a false start. Therefore, 0.403 is acceptable. I've never gone on about them anyway. And if you're reaction times are so good, why are you afraid to put a side wager on you not getting to 60ft in less than 1.609secs??? Chicken!
Not being one to miss an opportunity to embarass some muppet wo thinks he's clever though, the challenge stands on the conditios mentioned earlier, with the original wager.
Bear in mind that I am not expected to win, so have nothing to lose (other than the £100!!). Should you lose however, the consequences will be dire, believe me. You will end up emigrating to avoidthe ridicule!!

Stef.

Good clean fight guys, no hair pulling!!!

Cheers matey
Chris

Hey guys, I don't think the Superchip will even up the playing field that much... I am not sure if the imports are lighter in this case (?) but the individually mapped unichip will very likely outperform a generic superchip.

How about evening things up a bit and getting Stef a Unichip mapped by Rich to?

I've been away for a while, and the BBS has been down too, so I was looking forward to resuming normal service.

Sadly, I appear to have returned to a "my car's faster than yours" tit-for-tat which most 2 year olds would be ashamed of.

If it's that important, get your cars modified, do the runs, then post the times. There's an old saying that when the flag drops, the bull**** stops - well, we've surely had enough bull****.

Shaun,
I must concur with Stef on this subject, expecially as you are so confident in your driving! It should be purely down to who crosses the line first. This way it takes into account everything, as it is possible to post a slower time than your opponent and still win, because they have not done as good a reaction time. As there is now no question of your reactions (just your yellow streak ), why don't you put your money where your mouth is and bet the whole hog, other than just where you think your car is best.

You also have this super-duper launch control, so obviously you will be able to beat Stef's poxy little 1.6s 60ft time in your superior car with your superior driving . Or are you sweating it that if EVERYTHING is taking into account (as in who crosses the line first), your 300+bhp Scooby will be beaten by a "mere" UK car with exhuast and filter. Reading between the lines thats what it sounds like....

Obviously you only want to play with a loaded dice, which means that you are really only a betting man when the odds are stacked in your favour, which means you're not really a betting man....

If you are so good, why don't you level the playing field and revert your car to Stef's spec and then put yourself head to head, it would then be a fair match. You won't, because you know the outcome and need a more powerful car to win. The question is, how much more powerful? Even with 300bhp, I think you will get your butt kicked (having seen you perform . At least Harje has got an excuse, he hasn't done that many runs - but now we know you have from your posting, so whats your excuse gonna be when Stef beats you....

Will be there with bells on to watch this one...

Cool

I think Mike has just about summed things up in his last post.

Harj and shaun...

it appears to me you have an unfair advantage in terms of your cars abilities.

You should remember that stef is running these times with what is basically a std. UK car (exhaust and filter aside)

If you look at the times the other UK cars with similar exhaust/filter changes are running you will see there are few which can get close to uncle stef. This suggests that with like for like car performance driver ability is playing a large part in the equation. I for one can't get anywhere close to stefs times, my best is 14.7. This all comes down to ...

* getting a good launch
* getting quick and precise gear changes
* changing at exactly the best point in the rev range.
* how much pressure and pain your prepared to place your car under.
* having a tight engine.

it will be interesting to see just how much of a difference your cash injections for launch control and extra ponnies make to your times.

Lets keep it clean.

Ian.

Is it me or are some of the people on this BBS illiterate and stupid, Stef blatently challenged Shaun and myself with a Superchip in his car. This made the whole affair more interesting, this is when I made my earlier offer to Stef which he says he is still considering.

If some people read the whole thread, they will understand what we are trying to establish, DUHH.

If I ever lost my bet, I would be most certainly pay-up there and then, I don't need to Debt collectors thanks, but you can try!

Stef has also been re-named to Stressed Stef as he has so much to think about,

Been called away, but I will be back

Hold on a minute!

The initial talkings on this thread was concerning getting Harj's & My car down the track, the fastest that had ever been down at SantaPod in Scoob's - PERIOD!!!

It would help if people can read the thread, before making B*llocks up as they go along!!

** Nothing was mentioned before Stef's second posting concerning "Stuffing" people down the POD

** Stef say's his has never challenged me. B*ll****. Me and Harj must having hearing problems then!!!!!!!!!!

** I am not interested in beating any single person down the track. All I want to do is get in the 12's.

But.......

** Stef has been offered to have a SuperChip for nothing - to make his car as quick as mine! WHO CAN ACUSE ME OF MOVING THE GOALPOSTS!

I could'nt give a flying F**K about 60ft times or reaction times. ET TIME IS MY GOAL.

If any of you "hiders & seekers", think I am full of B*ll**** and a Dick Head, come down the POD and express your feelings in person, instead of hiding on a BBS.

Why don't we leave the impressive macho posturing until the race has been run then whoever wins it can have their moment?

But it is, honest!

Anyway, like Moray, I'm more interested in what's been done to these cars. Exactly what mods are we talking about here? Who did it (was it all Powerstation) and how much have you guys spent?

I'm not interested in who's quicker because you've got a variable in that the 2 cars are different, which isn't a fair test of skill. Maybe you should each rent a diesel Vectra and then have a go. It'd be purely down to the driver then...

Hi Moray,

Stef is more concerned about following the crowd, not a UNICHIP. He has his own comments on Unichip, but all he knows is what he's picked up from the BBS's.

Ive just been told that the STI6 that I was aiming for has just fallen through as a dealer beat me to the mark, but there is an STI5 V Ltd that's waiting to be abused.

Shaun and Harj,
I hope your comments are not aimed at me, as I was only being light hearted and I am not ilitarot! I just couldn't turn down the free wash, cut and blow.. er hair cut that Stef offered me! I thought that two against one was most unfair, so thought I would see if the Scatman would bite. As he is on the short side, I won't push him too much as I might be accused of being a bully.

Anyways, you know I am up for racing anyone, so when the car's are ready let me know. I won't put any money down until after I've seen you run
LOL
Mike
PS Shaun / Harj, I hope you weren't really offended (angry face smilie used), as I was only pulling your plonkers. I still want Stef to kick your butts though, as we ALL like to see the underdog win!

Richard - Your D*ck is no doubtedly bigger than mine - IT'S PERCHED ON TOP OF YOUR SHOULDERS!!!!!

I have never said, and never will say that I am an awesome driver. All I know (from past experience) is what I am capable of, given the right tools. Everybody is giving it the big'un about launching, I know that when I side step the clutch that car will fly - PERIOD!

I know my launch capabilities - I have had enough experience in different cars.

I admit to get it to a fine art in the Scooby, I will need to practice and practice I will.

By nature I am not a stressed out person, but when people start calling me a W**KER & a D**K HEAD, just because I state things I KNOW I am capable of, I have to rise to the occasion. If I was such a ****, why would I be using my own time to be organising events such as RR Days etc. Is this the kind of feedback I can expect to get for the so called "MATURE" owners. There is alot of people out here with alot of HOT AIR - at least I will get off my **** and do something about it.

I have bought the Scooby as a play thing, nothing else. Alot of people who respect my feedback (and have known about the countless different cars and m/bikes I have owned), know my feeling about the Scooby. I do not jump on the band-wagon and get the in thing - like so many on this BBS have done.

I personally have better things to worry about, than focusing ALL my time on being a car freak.

AGAIN - I state the main objective of mine is to get MY car in the 12's. I don't give a S**T if that means I have to beat other MEGA drivers to do that. If 20 cars in the country could get in the 12's, I would still want that to be my goal! Knowing what Stef can do in a UK car, makes it even more attainable!

If people know me personally on this BBS, that's fine you can make comment. If you don't, SHUT THE F**K UP, cause I am not interested in your DRIBBLE!!!!!

How can anyone that does'nt know me, ever come out with comments saying I won't do this and do that. My goal is not fiction, it is attainable.

I think you have said it all Shaun! I won't itterate on any more of that comment. But when it comes down to the times, I know that Shaun will preveal and prove what he's talking about.

I think that the next Pod meeting should be a huge Scooby Bash including (Rainbow man), this will be the perfect opportunity for people who have Scoobies but are a little caucious about track days after seeing what happened to Barbershop Boy at Donno.

And who said satire was dead?

Shaun, I think you missed my point. My point was that all this "yeah you're so cr@p, your car's b0llox" stuff doesn't really achieve anything. When you've made your runs then cool, we'll all know who's the quicker. I also didn't make any "you're a d1ckhead" comments so maybe you should direct your anger elsewhere.

Like I said, maybe we (or you) could discuss what you've done to your car so we can all learn something from it. It's the childish bullsh1t that gets so tiresome. Not really the point of the BBS...

The big d1ck comment was supposed to be sarcastic by the way. Glad to see that people actually took it seriously.

Chill Guys!!

Fan the flames and the fire gets more fierce.

Look at all the hype and goading prior to a BIG title fight. It gets the adrenelin rushing and hightens the sense of expectation. Then the event goes off with an electric atmosphere, and at the end, the winners and loosers shake hands. Oh, and hand over a grand!!!! lol

Shaun, Harj, it will be a terific boost for all Scoobs if you get your cars running in the times you expect. At present, people are already gobsmacked at the times that Scoobs achieve.

Sorted, respect due!!

Cheers

For what it's worth, you can get 13.2 / 102mph over a quarter in a slightly warmed over 96 WRX 5 Door (heavy, low power car)(PE claimed 260bhp/260ftlb).

PS: Slight clutch slip to IIRC... oh well...

Andy Hughes (sp?) also did a 13.15 @ 108mph in his Five door on his first ever run. Must have been fluke though, 'cos he couldn't emulate that on Sunday , only managing a 13.29.....

With approx 370bhp a 4x4 Cossie ran a 12.04 @ 115mph on Sunday without the aid of the water injection which was not working (normally does high 11s when it is).

Akira,

Good words, It would be great to a Scooby get in the 12's, but I hope that a few others will try as well.

Just got off the phone to Stef, and he said he will challenge Shaun but in someone else's Scooby as his car may not be upto it

I don't think it's fair as Stef began by saying it come's down driver ability.

Solution:

Stef and Harj do runs in their own cars, swap cars, do more run in the others car, swap back etc... Lets see who does better, in each car. Lets see who's THE driver!

This seems like a case of one person says, hey look ive spent more money on my car than you that means im great,

the underdog says, im a better driver than u and ill give u a run even in less powerful car.

people ask me why i can get satisfaction from straight line racing. Well i built my engine and it goes as quick as it does due to me not due to me paying someone else.

JEESH...im ALL in for hearing how this one goes. Its not like its a friendly battle. Id do the same race and the winner gets a can of coke, its not the prize its the winning that counts more.

How about they both use a totally standard car or something an independent motor.

or have an arm wrestle first????
