Best- my parachute. Never had so much fun with anything in my entire life..
Worst- a Computeach applications programming course. Got half way through it only to realise the IT slump had hit and I would probably end up making less money for a good few years anyway..

Best thing - the victorian semi I bought 4 years ago which has made a boatload of dosh !
Worst thing - Snooper S6-R NEO radar detector - I've accumulated 6 points since having it fitted. I'd have been better off staying paranoid.

Good topic.
I've also bought a steamer (4 years ago) and never taken it out of the box.
Best thing is probably my StreetPilot (satnav). Although my DVCam and Thomson PVR are pretty close-run 2nd place. The mountain bike might be in the top 3 too, but I bought it 6-7 years ago. Daily disposable toric contact lenses have completely transformed my life in the last 3-4 months, too.
Worst thing? Tricky, but probably the microwave we bought which caught fire while my wife was at home on her own and almost burnt our rented house down.

Nice thread.
Best - if not wife-related, then my Masters (all paid for by self). Got me a change of career into this job.
Worst - not sure. Wondering if I put my scoob there; had it a year, lost 10 grand on it (buy at peak, sell at trough), and wondering if I really, really liked it. There's prob something much worse, can't think ATM.
EDIT - sorry, saw I'm not allowed cars! Anyway, probably my Nokia 9110 Communicator from Carphone Warehouse. Bought without testing, found the software had been designed by a nine-year-old with no experience of PDAs, and CW have had it for six months of the three years for repairs. To be fair, I'm not sure what the alternative was. But I keep looking out for one.

Best:
Probably my Fuji S602 Pro digi camera with 1GB card , bit sad but it was expensive and Ive used it shed loads with great results.
or
Motley Fool UK investment guide (already making me money by the day, see below for reason)
Worst:
Shares, bought high(with little experience), now low though some are coming back now, however its been thousands of pounds tied up that I couldnt use(not prepared to sell unless desperate)
