Dont think its edie as he wouldnt get out of bed for less than 10 mill, hes the ultimate ego-centric rich playboy. He doesnt live in the UK and has something like 50 houses.

it could be staring us in the face: stig? what about the famous top driver with a bus pass, the one and only stig audi quattro champ!!!!!!!!!!!??????????/ at least the name fits and he has a dodgy accent! (i bet he could p*ss all over most drivers)

remember clarkson hates racing drivers he considers them a lower life form with just enough brain power to walk upright, he often comments on this in his writings, tv shows and DVDs.

stig probably comes from the book stig of the dump which was about a caveman living in modern times, which was popular reading material at school for people of clarksons and my age.
