For a reward, I'd ask them to do you a cheap trade-in for that '99 wagon - any Scoob that runs for 2 and a half hours on one tank of gas has to be worth having
Gratz on your stand-up attitude though JPM - nice to see there's still honest people around.

Very interesting, but there really was no need to call plod as you had already put a note through their door explaining what had happened.
Remember *A person is only guilty of theft when he/she dishonestly appropriates property belonging to another with the intention of permanently depriving the other of it*
In other words don't worry about it, and feel good for doing the right thing

My local Subaru dealers tell me that customer's turbos in for work, are only insured if kept inside locked up when not being worked on. They generally don't like to keep a car over night, unless they have to, due to limited indoor storage.
That dealer, if they left the car like that, are leaving themselves open to a big claim, as their insurance will surely not cover the car outside and running!!!

go into the dealer tommorrow have a look on the notice board to see who their insurer is they must have a copy of the certificate up then start the haggling of getting the favour back reminding them that you could inform their insurance company of this incident

JPMason here(alternate ID for work!)...
sorry about the wait for the update....the first tunnel (Harry) was discovered so i had to switch my escape efforts to the second tunnel(tom). Then found i was 30 feet short from the tree line!!
As i am now free, here is what happened.
The dealer calls me and sounds very meek on the phone, asks if he can come round and pick up the keys! The guy that turned up claimed that it was the Boss that made the mistake, we had a little chat about it and the only thing he offered was a £1k off the P1 that was on the forecourt! (typical dealer huh?)
Interestingly though i have been speaking with the owner of the pub next door (ex girlfriends dad) this is apparantly the second time in 2 months this has happened!
What is everyone thoughts on naming this dealer? I wonder if anyone at the dealer or at Subaru HQ has read this?

I'm a bit surprised that you should consider naming the dealer, what good is that going to do. Anyone can make a stupid mistake, even you perhap's. Does no-one do a good turn anymore without expecting a huge reward?

Name them - it has happened more than once, I for one do not want to take my pride and joy to people like that.
