STI

Is that an admin charge? Piece of nonsense isn't it.
My last insurers (Admiral <spit&gt were like that. £40 charges for ANY amendments to my policy.

Cover transfer - £40
Put on a private plate - £40
Take off the private plate - £40

I know a service manager at a group of BMW dealerships, he said in the last 3 months they have had to claim 11 times on their insurance for courtesy cars, And the amount of speeding tickets they get and have to pass on is horendous, He is waiting for the insurance company to say enough is enough and refuse to honour the policy.

They will then have to make the customers insure that cars on their own policies. BMW insurance will not make a admin charge for this, but a lot of others do.

p.s They had one guy in a courtesy 320d caught speeding at 46 in a 30, 62 in a 50 and 143 in a 70, all in the same day. gutted did he think hire cars where invincible to speed cameras or something.

I would imagine that the person who had the courtesy car was not the driver, unless of course they have evidence of him being at the wheel.

Just picked up a courtesy car at Quenbys, Baldock

A Daihatsu, YRV

Still free though, but had to sign a piece of paper

Strange how it didn't have any fuel in it

Walldonways of Maidstone don't charge me for courtesy car - though it may be that with the - AHEM - rattle problem, I'm a good, that is to say frequent, customer! (Actually, having had a Legacy and 3 Imprezas I'm a very good customer!)

AIUI the Courtesy Car is insured by them on a £4K excess, which is the (considerable) risk to them each time they let me have one. If that's typical of the sort of risk dealers face, you can't altogether blame them for charging .....

In the end I didn't have to get a courtesy car becasue the dealer cancelled my appointment for the 2nd time (which was nice).

Been re-scheduled for next week now.

Phil,

What rattle problem have you got?

I've got a 03 wrx and have some annoying rattles from the tailgate...which i thought they sorted at the 1000 miles service

Andy.

STi7(UK) Suspension rattle, Andy, a long running saga on Scoobynet - my comment a wry in-joke for fellow sufferers!! So, alas, I can't help you - never heard of rattle on 03WRX (tho' allegedly, someone cured their STi rattle by fitting 02 WRX suspension in its place!!!)

Cheers,

Phil

Beechdale pick up my car & leave a impreza/legacy/forester buckshee. Triangle said they would pick up as we were negotiating buying the last car, but on the day couldn't manage it and charged insurance as well. Guess who gets all future business?

If all you peeps are using the garages ins for their courtesy cars,
check what would happen if you had an accident, there will be a hefty excess that you will have to pay, generaly between 500 to 1000. so would be cheaper to use own ins
