Not my part of Wales, but I know it well.
Lot's of unemployment and a housing problem. They see Kurds being given houses and doing cash in hand jobs.
They see people born in the area not getting either.
Powder keg goes bang.
It was badly handled by the Police apparently, went straight from three coppers and a transit to full riot gear in 2 hours.

There is a similar problem in Northampton and i am sure in other towns and cities.
A lot of local tradesmen now employ (for want of a better word) ecomonic migrants and such like and pay cash in hand, there is a layby near the racecourse where people looking for cash in hand work hang out in the mornings and the local tradesmen know they are there and employ as many as they need. This has caused a problem with local labourers now not getting work as they are self employed/paying tax and 'stamp' and are priced out of the market by people with no such commitments and working for £ 30.00 p/d cash - along with their benifits and entitlements.

It seems unfair, i understand that people need to earn money but this is illegal for a start and unfair on the locals. The council seem uninterested in the problem and unable to act for whatever reasons.

This is s recipie for disaster IMHO. Bad feelings alround.

This is not ijntended to be racist, just how it is i am afraid and this adds fuel to the fires of those who will cause trouble.

The problems lies with neither the new arrivals or the residents but the pathetic way in which this governments deals with asylum applications. Put yourself in the place of a new arrivals. How would you feel being placed somewhere and trying to settle in to have your application rejected 18 months later. The cost also to the tax payer is vast. Why not spend this money to improve the approval process to get all claims processed withing a month. Then only genuine applicants would be taken in and properly integrated inot the community not just dumped and the community itself could be properly introduced to the new arrivals.

Getting back ot the riots I find it very hard to beleive it was started by anyone other than the residents as the new arrivals have everything to loose.

Its a real shame but I think the first people we should be removing from this country as the poor white trash racist scum that seem to be becoming more common these days.

I hear you mate, I am not racist and anyone who has read my posts on here knows that. But I resent anyone who comes to the UK for Political assylum and then does there level best to bite the hand that has taken them in. I hate the thought of people comming to the UK as refugees from oppression and really are economic refugees. I travel through Heathrow at least once a month and there are always people being interviewed in arrivals claiming to be assylum seekers. FFS life is hard enough for people born in the UK without adding to the pain with refugees having reasonable state benefits and then doing cash in hand work as well. I know British people do it as well, and that annoy's me as well.

The key phrase that gives away the fact it has nothing to do with race are the words "regardless of race". That being the case what is your point?

In years gone by, the "immigrants" coming into the UK were doing so to get jobs, set up home, and contribute to the country. Hell, I expect the Irish built most of it. There were fewer people here back then, and more available jobs.

One only needs to look at the unemployment figures here to work out that isn't the case anymore. There isn't enough jobs for the people already here, so it will cause more problems by adding to the population.

People in the UK are about the most accommodating bunch of humans on the planet. Despite the situation being like it is here, we still accept more people, and bend over backwards to help them. I mean, look at B'ham. There's a mosque named after Saddam Hussein! I doubt a church named after The Queen or Tony Blair would stand for very long in Baghdad!

But the patience is now running out. Some of the people coming into Britain aren't intending to get a job, contribute to the taxes etc... They've heard or seen that the UK is a state of handouts, where instead of having to work for a living, they can be given one.

This in itself annoys the "residents" as a) the government seems to do sweet fa about it, and b) these people seem to jump the queues in front of everyone else, because our system allows it.

The final insult is that the people coming in, are complaining about the treatment they're getting, or the location of their "free" housing, etc. They don't want any old house, no, they want what other people here who've worked their socks off for.

And anyone who dares to tell them to "be quiet" and "make do" is immediately branded a racist.

They're not racist, they're just fed up.

I am in the same boat as say a guy who's parents were born in the Pujab or St Lucia or Bangladesh, but they themselves were born in Britain.
They are still [comments removed] and should go home if they don't like it some of the people on here should be listened to.
Then I am in the same boat as they are, no pun intended. So I should go home to Italy or Ireland.
