Quads are great! Go very well with Arcam setup. Can't fault it.
In spare room I have Kenwood reciever and multiCD which does the job. Anyway, I've got them wired to Mission 701's which are decent sound quality (and absolute bargain at around £70 these days). Build quality of Missions isn't what it used to be apparently (I've had to shove some elastic bands into the gap between the casing and hte speaker unit as it was resonating due to cheap glue being used to seal it.
As people have said, try systems in your conservatory. Most of us will have never tried this setup so it's hard to really recommend the 'perfect' solution but it'll give you an indicator.
