Desperately common and vulgar, the preserve of the nouveau riche working class who feel they have to make SURE everyone knows they "made it".

So, leave personalised plates to ugly, unfunny, short Northern comedians, and Edgeware Road Arabs.

The £250 are considered abit ****

Then again, now that EVERY baseball hat rice boy in Southend has an Impreza, you may aswell just sell the car and keep the plate

Talking

I had EAT 1T on the skyline for a while, kind of suited any big muscle car plus i`m a fat git so it always raised a smile as i was parked up outside the nearest kebab or other highly dubious eatery!!lol

Angry

Found humbugs comments offensive . A typical jealous point of view. As for vulgar and common, what do you drive again???
Not wanting an argument but comments like that should be best kept for chatting to yourself in the bathroom if you dont want a response. Didn`t buy mine to prove anything, just thought it was kind of funny and could be taken either way on such a car.
Each unto their own is my moto, always think for yourself and act accordingly. Find it disppointing that someone could have the mentality to come to that sort of conclusion about people just by a reg plate on a car....i suppose you will be telling us that ferrari and lambo`s are driven by the same people , yes??
From your post (if we are playing the assumption game) i would have to say you are middle class to lower upper class who hasn`t quite made it in to the big time yet and so resents anyone who has??Or you are" working class and proud" but with the inbred genetic resentment of all things successful that display the trappings of life unavailable to you,. See , assumptions do nothing but offend!!!
And NO, i am not starting any sort of class war here and NO i dont want to here about how hard we all work to get where we are etc. I wasn`t the person making stupid assumptions on what started off as a sensible thread.
Yes, gets my goat, comments like that ;-)

Cool

PS. Its got nothing to do with being cool, its about individuality and in my personal case , about raising a smile.

nah personal plates are just vulgar and add nothing of any value to a car other than to advertise the type of person who chose to put one on their car- and it is not a good advertisement.

Thumbs down

Assumptions , assumptions , not going to bite but i would question what a reg plate tells you about the nature of the person in the car however the nature of some of the posts on the subject very definately tells us about the nature of the person posting it!!
Dont confuse your own personal views or opinions with that of the owner of the reg. Fine, you think they are vulgar, not disputting or trying to change your mind however your judgement of the driver or owner because of the plate i do question.
Isn`t this the same sort of image that scooby drivers get from the average driver?? I`m sure you would dispute the stereotypical image that comes with you car, yes??

No I wouldn't (re: Impreza image)

we all stereotype to some extent- it's human nature and when its relating to something like number plates or some other throwaway bit of fluff then it doesn't really matter does it.

Someone asked if personal plates were naff- I think as do others that they always been naff and continue to be so. You like them that's fantastic for you- personally I think they look pretty stupid so I said so.

Yes they will! It's part of having an opinion and I for one fully support the right of people to have naff looking personalised number plates. There's a massive industry based around the vanity of these car users and if we were all to stop buying them then a lot of people would be out of a job.
