So, if I'm on concorde at just below the speed of sound and I throw a blue fluffy toy hedgehog down the aisle, will the people outside the plane hear a "Sonic" boom?

Surely once you've passed the sonic boom then everything onboard is post sonic boom and therefore you can do what you like onboard without experiencing sonic boom again

Does a sonic boom not have something to do with the airspeed as well? The plane may approach the speed barrier and then brake it but the pressurised environment inside is a self contained environment - thus whilst relative to the earth the hedgehog has broken the speed barrier its only doing about 20mph (depending on your throw) relative to the environment in which it exists Thats my thoughts on that one - probably wrong

It would be cool though if that worked because you could go on a plane just 5mph below the speed of sound and start creating sonic booms with your arms and legs We'd all be a bunch of Gyles "Sonic BOOOOOOOM"
