turbowrx he may be honest but i wouldn't trust him. go thru insurance.
i smell a rat eg no insurance cover? have you checked out his details? eg address/phone?
good luck mate....rear end is his fault full stop. no need for the hassle you have enough on your plate.

Surely you should be reporting the accident anyway? to the Police and you must then report the accident to your own insurance company ?
I wouldn't leave myself open like this if I were you. After all you don't know this person from the next do you ? Doesn't claiming through insurance give you some legal protection anyway, in terms of the reapir being carried out to a satisfactory standard ?
