everyone is at risk, even a saxo driver. These scumbags have no taste, they just want money or a tool to do a job.

This is a little to close to home

I'm on that very road quite a lot!

I've had my old Nova Gsi taken in a similar manner about 4 years ago, back then it was nearly unheard of.

Whenever i stop at lights, i am always aware of being boxed in , and as John says, allways ensure i have an easy escape route. I don't have the doors locking automatically (the amount of times i've found myself locked out of my other cars with the keys in the ignition ), but i automatically lock the doors every time i get in, don't even have to think about it.

Even though mine is only a Sport, as far as the scumbags are concerned, it's a turbo (I'm sure they wouldn't have the brains to notice the lack of scoop)..

Andy

Glad you're OK.

To all
The standard alarm on every scoob that's had a standard alarm can be programmed to lock/unlock the doors.

The Police think I've either been followed me from the TC or they have come up from Little Hulton. I believe they sit in side roads and wait for cars to pass, as soon as they see a vehicle they fancy, they're after it. So your quite correct everybody is at risk.

You cannot lock yourself out of the car with the classic scoob's auto locking feature. Once you've unlocked the doors with the engine running they do not lock again automatically.

BTW If you are going to get out of your car with the keys left in the ignition you're taking more of a risk than I would. Mr Insurance co. isn't going to pay up in that situation.

I may enable the autolock on my alarm then, i've been locked out by other cars with cliffords and toad alarms on them, only when on the drive messing with stereo's etc, or chatting stood next to the car though.

Worrying stuff. John F's comments about defensive driving are very true. Its something I've learnt to do, as I work in Slough - enough said.

If anyone wants the instructions for setting up the standard Sigma alarm to automatically lock the doors, please email me.

The standard alarm can be set to auto lock all doors when the ignition is turned on, then it will unlock when ignition turned off.
No chance of locking keys in the car.
Its a no-brainer in my eyes.
