MR Footlong,
I like the sound of your jibe dude. Are you in the position to offer a solution to this niggleing problem. The area 51 from Alienware is the kind of spec I am after, but as you so rightly say, too pricey. If you can come up with the goods let me know.

Jinxy, tuck in mate. This Kentlad is so far up his own ar$e he needs bringing back down to earth. Wait unitl his missus finds out he wants to spend some money, he won't be allowed out for a week!!

Take a look at all those 3DMARK scores over at future mark Mr Footlong, don't seem to see many Athlons in the top 50...

Mine wouldn't be your cup of tea as it is heavily overclocked m8, but I am somewhat experienced in this department so do it sensibly for 24/7 use, not for 5 min 3dmark glory .

Built back in March:

ASUS P4G8X Deluxe Granite Bay Mobo, modded with custom BIOS and Heatsinks throughout

Intel P4 3.06HT @ 4Ghz (23x175fsb, 1.75V)

Mildly Modded Prometeia Phase change freezer cooling system with modded Lian Li Conversion kit

Modded Lian Li PC65 Alu Case

2x512MB Corsair XMS 3200-C2 DDR sticks running Dual Channel

2x IBM 120GXP (Death Star) 60Gb7200rpm drives, striped together for main OS C Drive

2x WD Special Edition 800JB 80Gb 7200rpm 8mb cache drives, striped together for main D Drive (Games)

ATI Radeon 9700 Pro Graphics, modded (Now running a 9800 Pro, Modded)

Soundblaster Audigy 2 Soundcard

Highpoint RocketRAID 404 4 Channel ATA-133 Raid Controller

Lite-ON 48x12x48 CD-Writer, stealthed with full eject capability and fibre optic LED relay

Toshiba SDM-1612 DVD Rom, stealthed with full eject capability and fibre optic LED relay

Twin LCD Temp Probes

Twin Blue Cathodes (Bought all the UV stuff, but couldn't be arsed )

Coolermaster blus LED fans with lightmodded 120MM fan as a precharge for the prommy heat exchanger

Antec Truepower 550 PSU

NEC LCD1760NX 17" Ultra Fast response TFT Screen using DVI connection

Logitech z-680 Hooj bugger 400W rms 5.1 speakers

Logitech MX-700 Cordless Optical Mouse

IBM Black USB Keyboard with hub built in

Everglide Optical Smoke mousepad

The PC Format Article on my machine is available here:

Quality Workmanship is something that I pride myself on . Expecting my second pc article to be in there possibly before the end of this year .

Cheers,

Nick

Yeah, I know about the prolonged reset state problem too, mostly when using the power conditioner module from what I have seen. I should be trying the P4C800+Prommy+ATX Conditioner config this week, so will see for myself. The machine isn't gonna be overclocked, so the power condirioner is not a concern if it causes problems. I should have a Mach II coming for myself next week

Both the MSI and Gigabyte Canterwoods seem to be ok.

With a cable mod I got the Abit board running fine in my Vapo, but it seems the ASUS is still causing problems.
