Bloke next door to me picked up two letters this morning, just got back from holiday in Wales
83 on the Motorway and jumped a red light.
He will be on 12 point and drives 20,000 miles a year.
He will be joining the 25mph club to, chaos!

I agree 25mph in a 30 zone is good for everyone. Also I drive HGVs and our speed limit is different from that of a car, we are not breaking the LAW when we sometimes must be 20mph slower. I see all the car drivers taking all sorts of risks to pass, I know that Im not breaking the LAW.

I have actually started to enjoy driving at or lower than the speed limits
Most people look at me like im stupid, being in a scoob and driving slow
but like Kat you cant see the girlies properly if you go too fast

We have 20mph limits in Portsmouth now.
theres one outside the school on Allway Avenue in Paulsgrove.
Im all for this, I think they should however simplify the limits system,
20 mph in towns etc
40 mph on the out of town road when the residential bit has stopped
85 mph on the Mway (do try to keep up PMTW!)
I drive at 27mph in a thirty, due to the inherant inaccuracy of my Speedo
Andy......

Leslie: To answer your post.
So what do you find impressive
Maybe roads with speed humps and cameras everywhere.
We have no way of combating the rigid and fixed speed limits
Many in extended village boundary areas.
There once was a time that a Police officer could use their discretion regarding all sorts of misdemeanors on the road.
Are we talking inconvenient, what does 5 or 10mph make of a journey time, when we have the constant threat of only going a few miles over the speed limit and being fined with points and something real inconvenient like loosing your licence.
Now as for entertainment, if we all drive below the speed limit and protested about this form of tax collection, maybe, just maybe it might make them redundant, or at least reduce their numbers to area of higher risk.
What have you got to say to that M8

Ajax.
You have not answered my post in any way. In fact you are preaching to the converted. If you had read previous posts about speed humps etc you would realise that. I am delighted to see people slowing down to safe speeds in populated areas where there is a chance of hitting children or elderly people or anyone for that matter.
If you read your own original post with an unbiased view, you may realise that you were telling us all with great delight how you enjoyed deliberately slowing other traffic down and far worse, causing long queues of traffic. This in my mind is far more dangerous because it causes frustration and eventually some clown is going to overtake and cause an accident. If you want to slow to less than the speed limit by a school or approaching a road crossing or where there is a warning of elderly people, or in an area of constricted roads, thats fine by me. You certainly should not deliberately obstruct other traffic purely for your own selfish fun. That is exactly how your post read! You also gave the impression that you originally thought that you were forced to drive at the posted speed limit.
