Cool

I have no idea Turbo...

Moses seems to think I know. He also seems to think he knows what language I speak.

People who drive Evos (and M3s) seem to think they know it all!

As a Christian, I think it is time someone spoke up to defend religion. It is not the religion which invokes such terrible and tragic happenings, it is the people themselves. They have been caught up in mass hysteria generated by the so called religious leaders who do this for their own purposes. Rather like our own leaders trying to con us into federation with Euroland in order to extend their own power base.

Proper religious teaching encourages people to live good lives and to be tolerant of others and their religions too if different. When this used to be a God fearing country, life was better even though the standard of living was lower. People could walk through the towns at night without the fear of being mugged and seriously injured. We were a much happier lot as well, with a smile on our faces rather than the miserable looks we see now. It is a great shame that thanking or apologising to someone else is now taken as a sign of weakness.

It is very convenient to say that religion is the cause of all these problems because it absolves people of the responsibility to actually follow a religion.

Although not practicing, I am from a hindu background but I have no idea what the word 'yoni' means.

I suspect from your previous posts you are referring to a particular part of the female anatomy.

I'm not sure what point you are trying to make here. Perhaps you'd like to elaborate...

this is the difference

jews believe God is for them and only them and their the chosen race

christians believe jesus is God incarnated and died for our sins

muslims believe Gods people are who believe in him the proper way and worship him alone and no one else and no one is born in sin, their is only one God and the prophet muhammad peace be upon him is the last messenger and prophet, jesus is the messiah and not God or the begotton son coz begettting is a animal act= sex and God doesnt beget and his children are us as in creation and we believe people tried to kill jesus but God saved him and he will be back.

and one more thing anyone who eats and sh1tes and sleeps can never be God and in the islamic week theirs 6 days coz God doesnt sleep and doesnt need a rest.
and is the unseen nothing like anyone

And kamikaze pilots believed they were dying for a good cause in WW2, when in reality they were just brainwashed into believing in a supposed good cause.
The human mind will believe want it wants to believe regardless of actual fact.
The different way we identify with god is only the human interpretation of this and in my opinion if you believe in god "you believe in god".
As humans we are so futile that we are prepared to kill and be killed in what we think is our slant on the whole thing......blind faith is amazingly powerful

When I see people say their religion is the sole source of their discipline and honor and self-esteem, I say "your problem is obvious."

If you believe that Mankind is damned, the Earth is evil, and that people are completely untrustworthy unless they adhere to your belief, and that you yourself are completely untrustworthy without your religion, then it's no fecking wonder you're miserable. Get some backbone and quit being led about by the nose like an ***.

human nature is to interpret religion (any religion) in a way that is the most convenient/beneficial

like someone said - religion ain't the problem, its the believers...

Akshay, you ignore the positive impacts of religion. Throughout the world people ALSO use religion as a source of moral guidance and unity, as opposed to what you see as just negative things such as war and hatred. I know where you are coming from, but I for one know that my religion keeps me on the straight and narrow, keeping me away from harm and making me focused enough to achieve a lot at a young age. Its all good.

Turboman, are you saying that you do not trust your own judgement outside of the framework of your religion? In other words, are you abdicating decisions in favor of instructions?

And if you are, can you see how a group of such people can be manipulated by any leader inclined to do so?

I'm not saying that is always the case, or that it is always bad when it is done, but from the perspective of someone outside of religion, it chills me to see such brainwashed behavior in individuals and cultures.
