Thanks Tony.
Marcus knows not to do anything rash unless he really has no choice. I am leaving it with the teachers to deal with and giving them a chance. His teacher won't tollerate bullying as she herself was a victim and so was her daughter.
I'm glad that it has been pointed out once again that these are 5 year olds and not teenagers again!
I'm sure that the school will get this sorted as they won't want negative publicity if they fail to resolve the problem (they are already near the bottom in the league tables. They are aware of my intentions if they choose to ignore the verbal complaint!

As a teacher myself I deal with lots of parents who claim their child/ren are bullied. I am not saying there is no such thing there is! Bullying is often confused with falling out/disagreement and is used as a general term by children and parents due to the recent publicity cases.
As a teacher I have to listen to everything from petty squabbles to more serious matters to ensure I am aware of what is going on. I HAVE to take everything seriously and have spent half my afternoon on occasions dealing with these matters arising from lunchtime behaviour.
Please speak to your child's class teacher even if you speak to the headteacher. I keep a record of events to back up any probs and actions taken. Recently I have managed to help resolve a situation of bullying by offering solutions and avoidance of the bully. Do Not blame the Teachers we do our best, work with us.
Heather.
