haaha this situation rang true for me too, although i'm married with a little nipperooni too.

basically it goes like this.

i told my wife to jack her job in when my son was born (nearly 2 years ago)
i work long hours and get in at about 8ish.

the missus, runs round all day, does the shopping, cleaning, ironing etc, but i normally do my own grub when i get in (her cooking is cr4p - like most women's!! LOL)

anyway, i give her qwwwwality time from about 8.15 til 10 ish
every night, chatting watching tv etc, by about 10, she has a flick of her poxy womans mags (hello and all that junk) i normally surf **** of watch a film)

weekends, i take my son out down to get a paper, via the park, and have a good couple of hours with him on my own while the missus tidies up the gaff, hoovers etc.

then i normally do a bit more "private" work for a few hours, we have lunch together, and i'm with them most of saturday.

sundays, i alternate between doing stuff with wifey and sprog, and going out playing (fishing/model car racing) or just seeing mates.

Yes, sometimes i feel a bit selfish, but i think its quite healthy to do stuff on your own as well.
I have too many married "hen-pecked" mates who cant even breathe without their wife's permission - thats not for me!!!!!

dunno if this helps, but it works for us.

in the man's immortal words, harsh but true LOL

good luck

Dazza

Edited to say the wife has her own car, and we have a gardener too, who lives next door.
