Been banned before (more than once) but that was a while ago - learned to not own a red car when the police are playing their favourite snooker game and most people get caught in the dark, or by laser guns - but if you have a bit of erm.....protection against those pesky laser guns! then..........well... I wont say

I dont condone speeding - just keep it slow in built up areas - but when your in a derestricted area well away from population the only real harm you can do is to yourself!

Yeah right......so it's all OK then. You can do whatever you want because you deem the raod to be safe.

Expect the unexpected.

You WILL kill either yourself, someone else or both with your attitude soon.

I only hope that you do not take some innocent person with you when you do eventually arrive at the scene of the accident.

Slow down and grow up. If you want to race then book a fecking track day and have some respect for others.

If you have been banned before and you are still driving like this then you clearly have'nt learned your lesson and you next ban should be 10 years plus.

Just been on the phone with TVR..... about other issues , they've gone mad............

Tuscan 440R is now available, but thats not good enough..

Also available on special order will be the Tuscan 550R!! Basically a supercharged SP6 engine producing 550 BHP ...defintely under £80K

Where will it end..

*As for speeding, I can't criticise as it would make me a hypocrit. I know its wrong but I still end up doing it.

We all speed at some point
90 on the motorway or dual carriage way, but 140 is looney stuff. If people have little or no regards for their own life thats fine, go play with a kite by a pylon, but these speeds on public roads are stupidity.

...and you know that for sure, do you??

just on sunday, my little boy wanted to see some horses, so, yep i took him down some country roads, parked up and stood by a gate, on the side of the road, while he talked to and stroked the horse etc.

If you had gone past me and my child at the ridiculous speeds you are boasting about, i would have found you and killed you.
End of story. - well, end of your stories, thats for sure.

you are pathetic. they should exclude you from civilisation.
if you dont do it yourself beforehand, that is.

Daiscooby....

So the TVR is a hairdressers car then??????? and shows your bank balance off??

If thats what you think , then you know nothing about TVR's , there history back to 1923, the companys fight to remain independant or even there track pedigree and racing.... . TVR's cost from £3K up to £100K , take your pick..

I would never dream of making sweeping statements like that about any car.. The Scooby could be taken apart by gerneralisations

Speeding..........

All I said is I won't criticise anyone else for something I occaisonaly end up doing...

No I don't do 140MPH anywhere..... but I do sometimes stray over 70mph... on the motorway.. Whether it is 1mph or 140mph its still speeding.

Do I moan if I get caught..... NO... cos its the law...

Scoobysnack

I was refereing to certain peoples attitudes with regards to there cars as an extension of their trophy cabinet. They carry the perception around with them that the car maketh the man. TVR's carry that stigma IMHO, so do Porches and BMW's etc. They detract from the genuine enthusiast.
I hate people bragging about speeding, it is absolutely moronic to flay a car down anything other than a track at those speeds. FFS I have seen plenty of road kill drivers who thought thta speeds like that were 'cool'. This guy is bragging he has been banned more than once FFS, what a pratt.

Points taken

I will be mainly taking my Trophy Piece down to the local TVR meet in Berkshire for a swift coke, and talks of our heroics on track days...

Sorry dude - but theres no way you can compare Beemers etc to TVR's.

TVR's a classic british sport cars (ABS anyone ).

Theres no way i'd label them in the same brush as the 3 series man!!!

Away from the rights and wrongs of speeding, (actually there aint no rights)

Having owned one of these Tuscan monsters, I can vouch for their straight line speed from a bog standard production motor they are awesome, the reason most Subaru drivers catch them on bends is that chucking Tuscans into bends tends to have the tail end hanging out every where, previous posts have said how tail happy they are. Also remember that TVRs do not have ABS etc and are very light, braking too late and standing on the stoppers is likely to lock up all 4 and with such a light car send it straight into the nearest hedgerow. Not the best thing to do with a fibreglass body.
Definitely a drivers car I would say and not for the faint hearted.

Scoobies a a totally different car to drive.

What a load of bóllocks about speeding.

You all do it or have done it, if not, do it.

Too many apprentice Policemen here for my liking looking to grab moral browny points.

Well it doesn't wash with me.

Well said Spoon, never heard so much crap about speeding in all my life, they're the type that fight to get all these immigrants into the country as welll no doubt! As for the bloke that would catch you up and kill you if you went past him at 140mph, what a moronic statement to make. **** off to Morris Minor.net if you don't like going over 70mph!!!

Just thought I would point out, that if your maintaining pace with another car as you accelerate you will drop back. If you're maintaining the same distance you're actually catching up with the car ahead on a time basis.

One day F1 commentators will actuall cotton on to the fact that the same time gap at 50mph (out of hairpin) will grow by 4 times by the time you reach 200hp (down the straight). Until then we have to put up with comments like "just look at him pull away out of the slow bends".

I dont see the point of preaching to people - it only results in the hatred of the person doing the preaching

Like others have said - everyone speeds at some point - you dont know where I was, what the road conditions were like, what I could see around me or anything

Anyhow being banned and not driving are two entirely different things!!

I could get into a slanging match but theres no point
