Well my b*tch had her Genie sim taken off her because she used over 800 in just a few days. When I first met her she was sending zillions of the things. Then shed get in a nark because I didnt reply in the same minute. It was mostly stupid stuff like "What you up to ?"
I mean, wtf, whatdya say to that - oh im down the pub getting pissed with me mates now leave me alone you freaky be'atch. Text some other poor ****. End SMS

I am soooo with Olly and CrisP on this one..... texts really do Suck..
And as for the phones, I thankyou olly for your words of wisdom. Sounds like we have the same phone, great at everything except making a phone call.
I was even told by Orange technical last week that the reason my phone kept cutting out was because I was travelling at over 53 miles per hour and the network couldn't keep up..... I Sh*t you not....
Trying to prove the theory will be fun on the M6 when I am holding up all the wagon's just to keep Orange happy..
I will only be able to overtake all the muppets pootling down the inside lane trying desperately to text "Be home in 10 minutes" to there loved ones...
Damn a good rant feels good...
All the best

have to agree with the above, I pay my monthly tarrif to get free minutes so i can call people, when i reply to people's texts with a call the usual response is 'why didnt you just text back?'
Because I dont Bl00dy want too!
last month was unusually high at 4 texts.

Sometimes people you want to get a simple non priority message to are too busy to answer the phone, or its not a good time to talk.
'can you stop off at the corner shop and get some bog roll on your way home' doesn't warrant a phone call to my GF.
Then again a SMS conversation is pointless, expensive and takes 10 times longer than talking

I agree wholeheartedly with a lot of what has been said. Lack of vowels, punctuation, capital letters; argh! Nightmare.
My favorite quote is 'call me back - you get free minutes'.
Yes - because I'm paying 50 quid per bloody month to build that in!!!

apparition: glad you clocked that one too. while not a religious person at all, i still think that passage is one of the most spine-tinglingly profound bits of writing ever committed to paper.

Just got my first mobile today. (It was free...)
Here's a load of vowels for for tExt addicts...
Feel free to borrow them when you need to...
aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaAAAAAAAAAAAAAA
eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeEEEEEEEEEEEEEE
iiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiIIIIIIIIIIIIII
ooooooooooooooooooooOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
uuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuUUUUUUUUUUUUUU
<walks away muttering>
Silly text messages - almost as strange as posting random stuff on a bbs. At least there's a sensible keyboard for the bbs - what am I saying???

Holy Ghost : the most scarey thing at all about it is..... its absolutely blooming true. Look at how things pan out in most people's lives and it sends shivers down the old back bone.

my next door neighbour is a text maniac, her husband took her mobile off the contract bill and put it to pay as you go ,when her text bill was over £400.00 for the month!!! the thing that annoyed him most, was that most of them were to me and this woman over the road!!!!!!!! even now if she gets credit,it's gone in a couple of days. we're good mates, but it does my head in when i'm half way round asda and i get about 10 texts in a row !! i think it's a waste when our doorsteps are only 6 feet or so apart ! no wonder her hubby went mental!!
