Have driven a VX220 turbo my neighbour brought home one night (He works for a vauxhall dealer) and have to say the acceleration was phenomenal. It's quite 'cosy' in the cabin too especially with two people in there. If you take a bird out in it that has a short skirt,it's worth hangin around as you'll get a real eyeful as the sills are soooo wide and it's virtually impossible to make a 'gracious' entrance into the thing!!
The only downside for me (And probably cos I'm a lazy git and like the luxury) is that there's no power assistance on the steering!!! (I'm sure someone will correct me and say power steering is for wimps though )

Good luck and forget what the badge says!! (They're a nice motor)

I test drove a NA 220 (only for a play - my mate's buying one), and i didn't like the overly heavy steering - would perhaps benefit from a bit larger wheel, but don't think it need power assistance.

Didn't push it too hard, but it felt like it had very similar acceleration to my scoob.

John.

Two of my friends have driven these and said they were the best fun that they've had in a car for ages (driving that is!)

One has come from an Evo 5 and the other a 2-door Sti - V5 type -r running 317bhp, so they are not exactly novices to fast cars

Regal (and Courtney?) offer a 270 bhp conversion on the Astra Coupe Turbo's! Add this to a custom Stainless exhaust and I can imagine that it would be a real (Q-car) weapon!!

If a Blink motorsport Civic Type-r engined Elise can do 0-60 in 4secs flat and get to 100 in well under 10, then imagine what a 270 bhp VX220 would be capable of???

PS = Just check if the warranty will still be valid!! hehehehe

Nice in theory but I don't think you can hike the power up that much because of cooling issues. I may be wrong though and yes, a 270 brake VX would be a sheer weapon.

You and your badge snobbery anyway, farmer fodder
