I've had one too! Worth it, just for the experience.

Got an Evo now, prefer it as it feels so much lighter (because it is!) and so much more manic, raw and nimble...

I'm glad I owned a LC though. Was an experience. When the roads were damp, flooring it in third sends those rear wheels spinning all over the shop...! RWD not really for me, not enough of a competent driver! And 53mph in first...mad!

53mph in 1st gear!! Thats CRAZY!!

What does it redline @? Or is 1st gear just a super long ratio??

Cheers,
Grant

it'll do almost 100 in second..its mad...it does top speed in 5th...you cant actually accelerate in 6th its too tall...its geared to do 286mph in 6th so it just doesnt have the legs to accelerate....

they can use such long ratios because what counts with LC's is the torque figure of 419 lb/ft

Grant,

IIRC it was quoted at:
1st - 53 mph
2nd - 80 mph
3rd - 110 mph
4th - 140 mph
5th - 176 mph
6th - cruising gear, 140-ish I think...

heh...thats good..but alas its wrong..all the LC figures were underquoted..it'll do 186 in 5th

you just dont use 6th its a waste of time ...it'll do more than 53 in first a sorted one will do closer to 60 .. 2nd and 3rd are fabulous gears ....

autocar had a standard one at 185mph in italy at launch and that was one of them running at 377bhp..alot of them came out of the factory at more than standard

I know Bader, I did say the 'quoted' figures... Mine was de-catted too...

The Evo is awesome TurboMav, had it nearly 18 months now and still love it!

Drove an evo a few months ago..a IV i think it was...tried my utmost to get it to do something stupid..was too grippy though...was a totally different experience to what i am used to....mind you i am used to rear wheel drive barges

great fun on the twisties though...in its element on country roads.

Bader, The Evo is perfect for a driver of my competence mate!

The LC was just too big for me. Once I went around a fairly large roundabout with some idiot chasing me in an average family saloon and, on exiting, slid all over the place! He was still behind me...not sliding all over the place......not for long of course!

Now the Evo over the same roundabout...completely different story!

I know what you mean...the LC is abit too muchs ometimes and it goes off on one without you either trying...even more so due to no driver aids...

the evo will be far more controllable not to mention slides are easily controllable even for **** drivers like me..lol

hmmm
difficult that one when i am hanging on for dear life...

its very noisy and so bloody grippy....unbelievable brakes aswell...and you can drift it round corners and it will just grip like glue...very very fast....

just to put it in perspective...each set of bolts on the hubs (5 on each hub) is 95 quid each :s

Nope, owned two Evo's now but never owned or driven a Scoob.

Part of the reason I sold my LC was fearing something going on it. It's bad enough when you have to pay through the nose but actually sourcing some things, or not having an indefinite wait, would be a start!

The bloke who owned mine before me had the engine go and, all inclusive of ancillaries and VAT, was quoted £26k for a new one! He did mange to source a brand new one for a lot less in the end though...

I bought a rear 'Carlton' badge for mine.....£72!

The LC is quoted in Evo mag as 10.6 secs from 0-100 so don't know about that CarpetCleaner...

Bader, It was a couple of years ago now. I think it was someone from the Autobahnstormers (Charlie?)... At the time he had got hold of around 3 or 4 of them I believe...

M3 is 11.5 to 100 so what's a second gonna make on the road, **** all

at the end of the day a LC is a sodding crappy vauxhaul Carlton with a powerful motor and some tweeks to the suspension
