AFAIR there was a test between the RS6 and the current V8 M5, the outcome was something like, the M5 is a more involving drive but for sheer pace the RS6 is miles above the BMW...

Cheers,
Grant

Very nice

I have never seen one in red before and wouldn't have thought that it was a colour that would suit the car but I have to admit it looks absolutely superb

One question, is the stage 1 upgrade an Audi approved modification and so covered by the warranty or is carried out by a third party tuning company which would invalidate your warrenty?

Enjoy

Hi,

lots of place do the 'Stage 1' upgrade e.g. MTM, ABT, AMD etc. The ABT is supported by Audi, sold through their dealers and is compliant with the warranty. It is also about £1k more expensive than the others.

Right I wasn't aware that there was an Audi approved upgrade.

I have looked into the MTM upgrade (through Kim Collins).

I would say that although an extra £1K is a lot it's worth it if you get to keep your warranty.

Interesting

Hi,

car is almost at 800 miles now and therefore I am starting to lift its skirt a bit.

What is funny is that in most of the other fast cars I have had, there has been a real sensation of speed from the driver seat. The RS6 seems to mask the speed from the driver so unless you look at your speedo or the rear view mirror, you are blissfully unaware of your progress.

Choice quote from my m8 who has just had his first run in it. He comes from a JPM STi, Evo 6 and now an M Coupe - "this thing is like a bloody playstation !"

Rod, but is that a good thing or a bad thing?

A few people have uttered the word "uninvolving". I wouldn't want a car like that, please tell me it isn't so!!

The RS4 is often considered an uninvoloving drive (pre the quattro suspension pack) although I certainly have not heard (or felt) that the RS6 is lacking.

Many are not aware that it has a similar AYC setup to the Evo's which when coupled to the rest of the setup make for a fairly immersive experience.

Although at the end of the day, it is still a 2-tonne car and therefore always going to be at a disadvantage on the real tight turns.
