Hmm I must say it was pretty good but still didnt leave you feeling wow. The new John Connor (Nick Stahl??) was pants and his character completely changed other than being a loner. Before he was the one learning to survive - in T3 it was like he'd got worse and didnt know how to defend himself, he even needed the Brewster bird to save him. When arnie was reprogrammed to terminate him he just lay on the ground instead of running away. If only Edward Furlong could have been in it and helped Arnie out (Ive heard Furlong is a drug addict now so couldnt be in it???). Arnie held his end up but the rest of the cast were plastic.
I cant believe people are complaining about action - there were literally loads of explosions and quality car chases/shoot outs. The crane scenes were immense in the cinema. Admittedly no one brilliant scene like the Police Station shootout in T1 and Cyberdyne Shootout in T2.
The inclusion of Dr Silberman was a pit pants too - served no purpose IMHO (isnt he the only one in all 3 films other than Arnie?).

Forgot to say:
The best of them all is Terminator 2 3D: Battle Against Time which unfortunately you can only experience in Universal Studios (both LA and Florida). It is brilliant (seen it 5 times) with people running past you in the cinema shooting guns, terminators coming out from the sides of the cinema and shooting targets, smoke, water spray and moving seats to simulate explosions - you gotta love the yanks and that mastermind called James Cameron for making it possible (Linda Hamilton, Arnie, Furlong and even Robert Patrick are in it). The making of is on the T2 Special Edition DVD - and it doesnt look like it was cheap to make! It gives a nice insight into T4 as its in the future fighting the machines on their own turf.

but isn't T2 3D inconsistent with T3 now ? they destroy the central skynet processor which contradicts the software based skynet in T3 ?
anyway Shrek 4D is now the best at universal imho

uksti,
Not really as T2 3D follows on from the previous two with the thought of stopping skynet period. In T3 it appears that the resistance now realise that making sure John Connor (and now Kate Brewster) survive long enough to lead them against Skynet is the mission.
A lot of people thought that the reason the third film could be made was because Arnies removed arm in T2 was never destroyed (even though it was in the book). The fact that this was never mentioned in T3 just adds more weight to the fact that Skynet is purely an AI Software that replicates itself to control every computer/machine. The machines/terminators are purely a weapon that the US Army had designed and that Skynet adopted and improved on to use as its army.

I luv the idea of how it could of continued from a technical point of view my thoughts would of been that just kuz they blew up the main building etc in T2 wasn't the end of that knowledge i mean as i already said the people from cyberdine etc would still have the knowledge & in the real world there's always the option of industrial espionage & the fact that various info/data could be elsewhere
Si (er maybe i have been considering options too long lol)

The worst part to T3 was where Arnie got his butt kicked by the TX and she then snapped his head off. Then he just twists his head and he's back to normal - come one give us some credit!

a bigger ***** up was when she took control of him and he shut himself down. she took control of him using those nano-bot things, so they should have still been there when he restarted.
not a patch on T2 - was left a little disappointed to be honest.

In the future John Conner is killed by a Terminator. The same one that has been sent back this time.
The "old" model terminator was picked for the job becuase the machines knew that he felt something for that model becuase of what happened in T2.

according to T2, judgement day was going to be 29 august 1997, but because the cyberdyne building was destroyed, skynet was just delayed rather than not going to happen.
not sure about a code that was missing? possibly something to do the "virus"
to digress slightly - there's rumours going about that James Cameron and Ridley Scott will team up to make Alien 5.

have to agree with scooby si's comments about missing JC'c storytelling - he always seems to spend a lot of time setting the scene without making it boring. Just look at Aliens, that and Terminator 2 have to be the best sequels ever made.
Please dont anybody post anything about Godfather 2 (or Speed 2, snigger)

Not seen T3 yet - was kinda hoping it would be good.
Alien 5? - hmmm... I have my doubts.. 4 was okay up until the end.
What new surprises do we have in store?
The Aliens try to invade Earth (there's bound to be a few eggs kicking around on the "Betty" (was that the name of the ship?)) only to find a bunch of Terminators tooled up and ready for a rumble...

Well, my feelings on this are similar to how I felt after watching Matrix Reloaded. They had the opportunity to tell a great story but just copped out completely, choosing instead to regurgitate some formulaic Hollywood baby-food trash aimed at the typical mush fed, nil-by brain couch potato American consumer.
Ah well.
But in terms of effects, I reckon T4 is going to absolutely rock! A war with the machines could be pretty damned spectacular considering the CGI advances of late that gave us the battles in the latest Lord of the Rings. A million robots taking on the humans race? It's got to be pretty watchable!

scooby_si - have you seen the big budget style 'short' that knocking about on the web?
Its Batman vs Alien vs Predator? Looks like a great trailer for a potential movie and it's very well put together

Alien vs Predator is a concept that's been knocking around for years. That was the original premise behind Alien 4 until Joss Whedon got involved and pitched his own story.
As for Cameron and Ridley Scott working together, I can't really see that happening. They're both far too strong-willed for it to work, unless it's in terms of one of them sticking some money in and taking a back seat as producer or exec. prod, as Cameron did with Soderbergh on Solaris.
