Tell me about it! No unfortunately is extremely unlikely it will ever be seen again Unless I get it back and cancel my claim those are the sort of premiums I will be facing for the next 5 years until the theft claim comes off my record

Cheers Steve.
Oh yeah PG and to go with the increased premiums obviously I have to pay the excess of £500 and the full years insurance fee for 6 days worth of cover. So well over a grand out of pocket before I even consider the costs of getting another bike etc!
They will get away scott free and I am the one who has to suffer for it for the next 5 years

Can anyone explain to me, in really simple terms, why people like Bravo are penalised when they have their bike / car nicked, when it's not the owner's fault and the vehicle has all sensible anti-theft stuff?
Oh, I see, it's 'cos insurers are robbing b@st@rds.

Too right brickboy, my sentiments exactly! Plus why should I have to pay the full years policy when I only had the bike 6 days??? They covered me for theft. Not my fault its only 6 days before they have to pay up/process a claim. As far as I am concerned I should only be paying cover for the 6 days or first month at the most! But instead I am having to pay the full £595 for 6 days cover so again they are robbing thieving scum as much as the criminals themselves.

B2Z - send me some details/pics/chassis numbers of the bike. I know some people heavily involved in British and World racing so will get them to keep an eye out for you.

Bravo - i know exactly how you feel mate. I had my Gixxer 750 nicked in front of my neighbours who just watched it happen and didn't even call the bill, and I had my ZX9 stolen and when they caught someone for handling the (datatagged) engine the f****** soft-headed magistrates let him off. I can't get any bike insurance now - it was my THIRD bike nicked in London. Hope they catch the C****.

Know how you are feeling - my new R1 was nicked from work March02, they disabled the Datatool System3 in seconds and just picked it up and put it in the van cutting through a metal post in the process!
Regarding insurance, probably struggling to get a superbike insured for the first 12 months unless cost is really not a problem (I got a VFR VTEC for around £500 fully comp immediately afterwards) but now have the VTEC and a new SP2 fully comp for £750 through Carole Nash (I think insurers treat total loss theft less harshly than accident claims ?)
Needless to say never heard anything more about the bike - just hope that it got bent with the thief on it. I have to say though that at the time I offered the police to set a trap ie. put an R1 with a tracker on it parked up in the same place but Police weren't interested which I felt was a shame !!
Still bring both bikes to the same workplace -what can you do ?
Why sacrifice your enjoyment for the sake of worry ? Have to say though that every day I leave work to see the bike still there is very nice !

Yeah that was my first thought to get a trap set with tracker as they have taken several bikes from this bay. I am certain that if I put another brand new R1 in the same place next week they would be back to take it! They have no fear of being caught because they know the police cant be ar$ed to put the resources into catching them.
I will get insurance quotes on different sizes of bikes just to see what comes out cost wise and then decide if I am going to get another one or not. Still my two favourite options are an old Fireblade as suggested and have been looking at them on biketrader and also maybe a GSXR 600 as they be picked up quite cheap. All depends what Yamaha Insurance Services are prepared to do quote wise for me as they told me to call them when I have a bike in mind. I am guessing that as they are a broker they will do other makes as well as Yamaha?
Can you get trackers for bikes? Or alarms with a remote that will tell you when its going off?

when my brother had his R34 nicked from his house, the old bill found it in a pub carpark in Bolton.
do you think they would stake it out???
not a fooking chance, they told him to come and collect it.
luckily it was undamaged, as they broke into his house specifically for the keys, which they found.
they are lazy fat plods, dont expect much from them, they are to busy with their cameras!!!

6 days old and I was moving up from a 600 to 1000cc, wouldn't touch an R6 with a barge pole to be honest, ZX-6R J series was the best all rounder in my opinion in the 600 range. The 1000cc range for me is the R1 or Gixxer and the Gixxer K3 is horrible to look at so plumped for the R1. Would have liked to have looked at next years new blade but no chance now with the theft claim against my name and will have to wait 5 years for it to go off my insurance record
Will post up a pic or two later of my short lived pride and joy.
Thanks for the comments folks. I hope they get justice too in the same way as mentioned in the replies.
Police reckon it might have been stolen for next years racing season as its brand new. Will be broken down for spares/new parts ready for the start of the new season. I hope they fcukin crash into a brick wall at 100+ mph
Rich and Simon thanks for contacting me today. Have only just got home and stuff to sort out so will get back to you tomorrow night hopefully with proper replies. Cheers guys
Edited to say Rich and Simon YHM
