so yes lets compare 15-20 year old cars against modified jap cars...yawn. You pay your money and take your choice, .5 seconds here and there on a cars performance is not for me a big issue. I'm not a big fan of 944 looks but please lets get what we're comparing into perspective. When these cars were out the ZX81 was the laptop of the day. The fact your still arguing about them today is testimony to how goos they were/are.

This thread wasn't started about the looks, heritage of cars it was started because a porker got slapped down by another scoob, I could of bought a Porker but chose not too...Everybody makes there own mind up at the end of the day....But to have the porker driver on here confirm he was slapped down AND that he bought it to SAVE money just ends the whole argument doesn't it ?

just another example thread of looking to stack up the cards to make a reasonable defence for the Impreza. Its a good car and has been a great car but its not the be all and end all of automotive excellence that many of the owner's on here think it is . "Beauty is in the eye of the beholder" I think the classic with the right bits looks amazing but then I have always loved the look of Japanese cars.....I think the new limited edition 911 looks pants, like most cars the longer its around the worse looking it gets over the years IMHO. As for heritage Subaru were once unbeatable in the Rally stakes and looks like we will do well this year.

er no actually, it was started because a Scooby was caught up by an unknown 944 and when he accelerated he could not get away. It's obvious we all love our cars and thank god that they are all different or the world would be a boring place, but this forum is full of 'my Scooby beat that and my Sccoby beat this'. It just looks silly. I enjoyed my time with my Scooby please don't spoil the memory.

On the Porsche and Ferrari forums it's funny but Scoobies are rarely mentioned.

davy what the 0-100 of a 944 turbo ? can it go under 13 seconds ?

As I see in EVO a 968CS is 15.7 and that has a slightly better PTW than a 944 turbo.

7.8 from 60-100, over half a second quicker than a ledendary P1 Chrisp I am sure you will say your does it quicker, but I would be interested in the 60-100 of your car.

(using Evo magazine figures for both cars, edited to day Evo does not print the 0-100 of the 944 turbo, although do a google search search and you'll see.)

As you can see, once moving it does go fairly briskly, and 0-whatever does nothing for me, as I don't use it on trackday or in day to day driving, oh and mine has 40bhp more than standard

Very difficult finding figures for the RA asa they are all in Japanese. Form a few mag review of type Rs and a few RAs it looks like 0-60 4.3 and 0-100 in 12.9 so 60-100 is 8.6. Then again mine aint standard either .

Hoping to run it at SPOD before the end of the year and get under 20 seconds . Pretty sure the cars capable of a fast time but I am probably not LOL.

I used to look at 944s in awe, and think "yeh, one day I'll have one".

I still stand by that statement, but the shine has been taken off it just slightly
