Think his speedo is a later clock, must have been replaced, as the Series 2 STI clocks never had STI written on them.

Butting in your thread!
Ive got a 95 N STi 555, my VIN starts with GC8
The Applied model is GC8C4ED Which states its a 555
Your car started life covered in 555 stickers just like the rally car
The Lady owner who owned my car before me had them removed as she said everybody seemed to want to race her !!!!!

Theres a web page in the links of SIDC called KENS STi
he has a list of all the different Applied models etc etc
it explaines alot about your car
IF it is an RA why does it have AC and Power windows ?
also I can still see some of the sticker marks

oh shlt - looks like i'm heading back towrads my prevouis issue - what the hell is my car???

I was conviened at last that I had indeed a 555 which most proberly was ordered without the 555 rally stickers etc...

But now..

240 kph (now mph) on the clock - no idea why this is so high - all I can say is this car is quick - you do 120 very easy before you even put your foot down - I feel that this could do at least 170 but I'm never gonna find out as the is no way I'm gonna put myself in the position of getting nicked and going to prison for doing 170!! Maybe the clock was replaced in Japan??

555 seats - aint got em - just plain ol STi stitching - Andy555 you seem sure that you have a 555 - what seat have you got??

Pete555 - yes the applied code will give you details but only as far as a Sti2 4 seater - its the option code I think that separates it into a 555 - that being BKC - what is your option code??
And yes KEN's STi is a 555 - this is where I got some of my info from butt ken seems to think there were only 100 produced - something I dont agree with

DaveBlueRA - I far as I can tell your is a version5 Type RA - the 555 edition is the first WRC commemorate model with the later commemorate models having the number 555 (as this was the WRC number) mentioned but yours isn't what we call a 555 edition.

So what the hell is my car?

Dave555 - we need to meet and soon!! I will email you next week mate and thanks

Adam (btw I got married today!!)

RetroDome, its defo a 555, and it looks mint. They did have the 555 graphics, but most have been taken off, or the car has had a part or full respray.

I have seen about 10 since I have had mine, and none have had the 555 decals.

The version 2 did not have the "555" logos on the seats, and none of the instruments had STI on them, think this all changed in the later models.

The gearing should be quite low, like I am doing 76 at about 4000 revs, so I know it will top out before 140. Did you import it yourself, and who did you use.

Also some RAs may have AC and elec windows as you could have had these as optional extras. The RAs version 2s that I have seen look similar, apart from the fact that they have no side skirts. They are the same shade of blue, nut they had a diff control to adjust the bias near the handbrake, and also they red line at 7500, and also may not have ele windows etc. Does yours have the carbon STI strut brace?

The Applied model is GC8C4ED Which states its a 555
This does not maen that its a 555, it just means that its an STI verion 2 which have the same model number, it may be a 555, but a standard STI 2 has the same Applied model Number.

Specs and model Numbers

Andy555,

Ok so no 555 seats is good and the gearing is quite low - seems like I have to change up very quickly (its a 555)

But I don't have side skirts... (its a RA)

But then again I don't have diff control (back to 555)

But it redlines at 8000, this I know cos the shift light records highest shift of 7.92 (oh no RA again)

And yes it does have STi carbon fibre strut brace (555 or RA?)

Here is the VIN

Now my option code says BKC but yours says B8 ???

My Option code is BK, so you must have an extra option with BKC, someone must know what it is??

The specs for the models are on the SIDC site under FAQ.

Yours redlines at 7000 on the rev conter same as mine, it might have a high rev limiter(it may rev higher than 7000), but the RA red lines at 7500 on the rev counter. Main diff between ours and an RA is that the RA has the adjustable diff, which your does not have. By the model code yours is a STI2 or a STI 2 555, we know its got the roof vent, so its an STI 2 555, RAs have different model numbers on the VIN plate. The 555 decals may have been an option.

Also you can always take the side skirts off.

I will bet you a grand its a 555, and it looks like a good one.

WRX STi Version 2,
Applied Model - GC8C4ED,
Option - BJC,
Engine tupe - EJ20G DW5HE,
BHP - 275,
Trans - Manual TY752VB4AA

WRX STi Version 2 555,
Applied Model - GC8C4ED,
Option - BKC,
Engine Type - EJ20G W5PE,
BHP - 275,
Trans - Manual TY752VB4AA

WRX type RA STi Version 2,
Applied Model - GC8C4DD,
Option - C XNC,
Engine Type EJ20G DW5HJ EJ20G DW5HJ,
BHP - 275,
Trans - Manual TY752VB4CA TY752VB4CA

From the specs on Ken Ross's page it appears that you engine code and options match exactly the 555, mine seems to be missing an option code , as I have only BK. Weird, but I do not think anyone really knows the different early Jap spec cars exactly, perhaps if you have that option it makes your car slow, and cos I have not got it mine is extra fast. Had a look to see if my option matches any other model, and it does not. Perhaps a one off????? maybe that the 555 decals were an option, and I did not have them????

As you can see, the VIN info shows that it is not an RA, yours is more of a a 555 than mine

Up for that bet???

Yep going by Ken's specs mine is 555 - this is where I got my info from originally - I did want a 2nd source to confirm things as Ken has a few mistake in his website...

But after speaking with you I'm certain that, yes mine is a 555 (with the slower option code of course!)

It must have had the 555 stickers removed or not originally ordered, it must of had the Sti pink front bagde changed, it must of had the speedo clocks changed and it must of had the side skirts removed

But one question still remains - why has the engine bay got the Prodrive stamp??

Not sure about that, is the prodrive a decal or is it actually stamped in.

If you wanted there are people on here who could make and put on the orig 555 decals for about 500 quid or so.

Aren't you suppose to be doing something different if you are on your honeymoon??? wink wink

Yep should really ...

It is stamped but I'll double check later - really strange though - I thought Prodrive were the UK modders that Subaru used - why is it stamped in a early Jap car?

And no I don't want/need the 555 stickers - I gonna get a private plate with 555 in it I think

Thanks for all yout time Andy - I will email you soon and sort a meet out

Cheers, Adam

No Problem Adam, it was interesting.

Also noticed that my car is shown on the owners page on Kens 555 page. That was when it was still in Japan.

Also, some of these cars have the black front badges just like yours, instead of the pink I badges. I do not think there are any hard rules with the early models from Japan.

cheers

Sounds OK to me, just need a good venue. I know a few others (not 555s) who will come along, perhaps make a mini meet with lunch???

Where abouts are you located?

Sounds cool - I'm NE but don't mind traveling around - The more the merrier although to be honest I really would only interested in the 555's (I say that now!)

Do you know of anywhere?
