Personally i know my scoobys not the quickest car on the block, in fact its totally standard engine wise apart from a K&N Panel Filter and a Powerflow backbox. BUT.... it looks to bollox IMHO, so if im gonna do a 1/4 mile, i wanna be going nice and slow so every1 sees me

<Until then **** off and go play down halfords.>
thats not very nice is it?
At least he's properly modifying his car by tuning to keep up with an impreza instead of fixing tons of plastic ****e to it like every other corsa round here.
I'd rather be a corsa boy with a safe attitude like his rather than a impreza owner whos an arrogant snob.

Seen as its been posted on here, can you answer a few questions :
1) How much has it cost to modify
2) How much is the insurance cost
3) Hows the wheelspin
4) Hows the torquesteer
5) Is it undriveable in the wet
6) Have all the other bits been upgraded i.e. suspension, brakes

Whats the point in this? Anybody can buy and modify a car and drive it fast in a straight line. The scooby is all about twisty roads ain't it? A nice twisty B road is what brings a smile to my face anyhow, who the hell wants to play in a straight line!

Who the hell cares?
You could put a twin bike engine into one of those 3-wheeler blue disabled cars and blow a fast car over the 1/4 mile. You'd still look like an anus in it.
It's the same down the whole spectrum of cars. Scooby drivers take great pleasure in humbling drivers in supercars, like P911s etc, when their cars are tuned to buggery.
Fact is, the person driving the more expensive, and better car simply doesn't care. They're loaded, they've probably got more cash in their wallet than you've earned this year, they've got a partner who wouldn't look out of place in a fashion mag, and they've got another 10 cars at home, on the estate that have been designed to do the quarter in about 8 secs.
I know, being a tad OTT, but you get the drift...
PS. Make the effort to type properly, you sound even more like a pilchard otherwise...

Personally I don't have a problem with him posting the movie.
It serves to prove a couple of points:
1). That he did in fact beat a Scoob and had the proof instead of writing a load of lines on a forum that wouldn't have been believed.
2). That some people when they see a Scoob get beaten will use any amount of weird ideas to attempt to skirt around the issue that the Corsa beat the Scoob. (We drive around twisties, whats the Torque steer like, who likes to drive straights, etc, etc)
Me personally, the guy didn't come out with a load of bragging talk, he posted his movie asking for opinions and then gets ribbed because of it?!?! The fact that his car is all show and go is a rarity.
Despite all the protestations of 'its a bloody Corsa who cares', enough of you downloaded it to comment on it!
Just a thought!

*yawns*
0-60 in 4.5 seconds and a 1/4mile time of 13.2 in the dry and 13.4 in the wet
car was nigh on standerd for the 1/4mile times, and benifited from a set of samco hoses, a pannel filter and a cat back exhaust for the later 0-60 challenge
*burps* lol

I haven't looked at it. Can't be ar$ed. Whether the original comment was to gain feedback alone, which I find a little hard to believe, given the nature of this site, or not.
Hats off to the engineering to make it that fast. I suppose I was a little harsh in my earlier comments, but why spend loads on making a supermini into a hot-hatch, when you could just go out and buy a hot-hatch?
Same as people who spend £30k+ on a Scooby! Why bother? You could get a 2nd-hand Carrera 4 for that money.

Duck Pond,
cos if you spend £30k + sorting out your Scoob it would be very substantially faster than any standard Carrera!!
More seriously because you would use them for different things. A well modified Scoob makes an excellent, flattering track car. Also a car that is much cheaper to put on track than a Porshce 911 in terms of track day costs.
Personally - modified Scoob for track and fast road fun, 911 for quick, enjoyable road mileage.
Rannoch
PS Will have to find that model bird for me passenger seat now

I have the pleasure (Yes..Pleasure) of owning a Impreza P1 and 16v Turbo Nova (339 BHP), with dyno graphs to prove!!, While the 16v Nova is a beast which does over 170mph +, I'm sorry to say that the Impreza is a far superior car, the launch, handling, looks and appeal to young ladies (whether it be in a Halfords car park, or elsewhere) is by far the winner, if you wanna s**t people up for a laugh when doing 150mph with ease then ok...its the Nova, but I know what I prefer, anyway, if you wanna race me in my P1 then bring it on Corsa Boy, beat me then fair enough, I'd resepect that, but I'll be back in a giffy with the Nova

Rannoch - I meant spending £30k buying a new Scooby. Not getting some old STi and modifying it.
Even so, I'd rather have a standard Carrera than a Scooby - different class of car. But, shhh - don't mention that near my MY97 in the car park... it might get upset.
