Just thought I'd mention, I've seen "Eleanor" up close and personal, I was in Las Vegas and the car is in the Imperial Hotel Car Collection and is a beautiful custom job, but she's not a GT500.

Redkop - you got in there before me. I was going to suggest the Sunbeam Tiger as well. Used to know a guy with one. Sounded awesome (even when it was only firing on 6 when he started it for the first time after rebuilding the engine).

Another vote for the GT500 what a car that is and probably the best looking car ever built. For affordable classics of the time I would have a mark 2 rs2000.

TVRgary The 2.0 16valve dolomite sprint engine should have gone in the TR7 from day one. That way it may have had a chance!

After a day or 2 cogitation, I think I have to agree with Lambo Miura, the 1st true supercar, although the 1957 Ford Fairline 500 Skyliner comes a close second, just for poseur appeal

All this talk about sprints, I have 3 sitting in my garage waiting to get back on the road. 1 has less than 9000 miles from new! non overdrive model, 1 has rebuilt engine not run in with TT cam and 45's. The other bodywork has gone but engine is good and overdrive gearbox waiting to go into the 9000 miles.
