and one other sticker couldnt see that one though it really does annoy me i just want to rip them off for being so stupid
Why are they being so stupid??

Just cause you don't like it? If we all liked the same things it would be a boring world, they obviously love their cars and take pride in them, just like I do mine!!

Some people will call Impreza drivers sad for having big exhausts and bodykits, so what who cares!!! I love it!!!!

Would someone care to explain what the difference is between a cheap hot hatch with silly wheels, over-loud exhaust covered in stickers and tacky bodykit, and a Subaru with silly wheels, over-loud exhaust, covered with stickers and equally tacky bodykit?
Nothing, zip, nilch, zero.

Let em get on with it. They have an interest in cars and they buy their own, not nick somebody elses. Anybody who is enthusiastic about cars is OK in my book no matter what it is. Thats what keeps motorsport and tuning companies in business.
My first car was a MK1 escort, with 2.0 pinto, bubble arches, painted Fiat oranco racing orange with yellow RS2000 sripes and Roger Clarke written in the back windows. 1. It was a 1.3GT when bought, 2. It was not an RS2000 and 3. It was never used to rally so bubbles pointless and 4. I am not Roger Clarke. Not to everybodies taste (including mine now) but at 18 I thought it was the dogs danglies.

He was stating why put HKS on the car when it would be completely irrelevant,

instead of HKS, Blitz, Apexi, Do-Luck

he should have maybe, K&N, Magnex, SAMCO

which would look as nice as the other stickers and there actually might be a chance of him having those products under the bonnet,

There is nothing wrong with people thinking they have a better car either, I know for a fact my car is better than a ****'n Fiesta or Corsa, just as I also know that my car is a heap compared to a 911 Turbo.

But you know for arguments sake just in case I step on anybody's toes IT IS JUST MY OPINION !!

Lol @ Aintbroke

Nice work m8. At 18, i was lucky if i had new wheels for my pushbike. I did however have some nice raleigh stickers on it tho.
I thought about putting some tuning stickers on it too, but that wouldn't have made much sense because there's no way i could have fit a K&N induction kit near my crotch.

Can't see what all the fuss is about. If they want to jazz up their cars, good luck to them. I don't personally see any point in putting meaningless stickers on the car, but thats up to the individual. Its a bit like putting pink badges on a WRX. All for show but not the satisfaction of having a real one!

Those lads who do a smart job of all the bodywork etc deserve a bit of respect for a good job. I am very proud of my MY94 STI but it is going to remain original looking deliberately. It can only be distinguished by the pink badge which it deserves. Doesn't mean I don't like to see the efforts of those who like to do the rest of the bodykit businees.

You hit the nail on the head, but because a hot hatch driver has done it he gets slaughtered by a Subaru driver because of car snobbery

You should of seen the blue stripes I had put on my MK1 Astra GTE I look back and shudder with horror I think I even painted the lettering white on the tyre at some point

live and let live, who cares what someone sticks on their car no worse than a baby on board dangly thing, or bumper nuts, or your name on the back rear window with a union jack next to it, its up to the individual.

Just because you wouldn't do it yourself doesn't make the other person a fool, everyone's different and thank go we are otherwise it would be very dull LOL!

EH

FFS read the post nobody is slating him for having stickers

Just that you can't buy any tuning products from those company's for his car they have no relevance for the F'n Car.

So put Magnex or K&N on it not HKS

The argument is not that he has stickers, just the stickers that are on the car are ridiculous.

I didn't realise that some of you need this spelling out,

right I'm off to by an Austin Allegro where I'm going to put a Mclaren badge on the front with HKS Power down the side,

The above example will prove his point in greater detail so some of you can get your head around this concept.

we have a greddy/trust calander and the september/october page has a mk4 golf tuned and stickered by greddy, so much for matching geographical locations...

At least pink badges are relevant to the marque.

An owner who puts them on his car is either A) really likes the badge, or B) wants an STI lookalike.

Either way, are they wrong? At least they are believeable.

Do you slate Sport drivers who put vented/scooped bonnets on their cars? No.

If he had put Magnex, or K&N etc on his car, no one would bother cos at least they are believable....

As for snobbery??????

Why don't we Subaru owners put say an "Equisse" sticker on our cars?

Is it because we are snobs? No.

Is it because Equisse don't make anything for our cars and we'd look rather silly? Yes.

turbo bob,

I agree geographical location has nothing to do with it, but last time I checked Apexi HKS and Blitz were not producing products for Golfs !!

I agree with CTRnutter,

Geographical wasn't the best terminology, perhaps "marque specific" is more suited?

For Greddy to have a picture of a Mk4 Golf on their calendar, I'd bet my bottom dollar that they make something for that marque (no idea what though) so nothing wrong there.

Show me a HKS calendar with a VTR on it!!!

Fast n the furious, innit?

**** it, these people have worked *hard* on their cars. They might not be to everyone's tastes but your average "boy racer" car will be cleaner than the average scoob...

I had a 1.4 fiesta and loved it. Yes, I had a kenwood sticker on it.

But he loves it and that's what counts.....
Amen to that!

Cool

Micheal The Shoe Maker had Malbro written on the side of his car. As far as I'm aware they don't do tuning products for Farrari & he doesn't smoke. What a donut.

Talking

widening my outlook on life by learning the product list of HKS na mate i think you might want to widen your outlook on life,

To put this plainly anybody who turns to insults isn't even worth speaking to in my book come back once you have reached puberty,

this a matter of opinion,

I think novas golfs or whatever with these stickers on look like young individuals who want to be brian o'connor or Vin diesel out of the fast and furious but just end up looking like planks.

take it or leave it, but to be honest i don't give two monkeys it isn't my car.

Red face

the products were used as an example of universal parts that could be fitted to the cars mentioned in this thread and therefore there would be no harm in displaying such respected tuners logos and as for insults, widening your outlook on life was nothing more than a suggestion not an insult unlike your coment towards my stage of maturity which along with the way you are reacting to my post sugests you are no further than the the early stages of growing your short and curlys and should maybe think about what i said as there was no offence ment and was only highlighting a point which i felt was valid

You have further more proved my point puberty being a stage of maturity, therfore weather my pubic hairs have grown shares no relevance to this post but merely acting my age does, you have jumped to conclusions by forcing your beleifs onto others

by merely not allowing me to share my opinion,

also if you look closely to my reply you will see that it was purely in gest hence the smillies, this is also known as banter

i did not in anyway force my beliefes into to others but merely made them known and as this is a forum i did not see this as a problem but if it has caused any offence i do appologise, also could you explain how i have further proved your point about my maturity?

This was purely by you slamming into me about joking with you, for whatever reason you hadn't seen my smillies and i felt that you might have gone overboard in your approach,

Which has left me some what dismayed as i agreed with you in one of your posts previous to my last,

I just shared a different final view with Talizman

Anyway i think maybe this thread has reached an end for me,

In the same way that football fans have stickers of their team on their cars, yhe lad might just be a massive fan of HKS, Blitz gear...etc.

Just wanna join in by saying that although I think these cars look silly, what the f|_|ck has it got to do with me. Its not my car.
I happen to think that subarus with stickers look very silly to, but again, who am I to comment. Its not my car.

It should make you feel good when you drive past them because you 'think' you car looks much better than theirs.

You mean 'worse' like the dorks who buy executive style/Germanic motors in the mistaken belief that it makes them better than everyone else ? (note this is a subset of the marques customers)

I'd rather associate myself with a group (boy racer or otherwise) that is enthusiastic about cars in general, and actually interested in what it does rather than how it makes them look to society.

Perhaps the badge followers should be lobotomised...think like sheep, might as well be like sheep.

Quick Reply: why do boy racers do it
