BEGINNING?!?! Hmmmmmm. When doing atkins your the idea is to get your body in keytosis (where is consumes its own fat). This process leaves a byproduct in your urine and breath which can be measured. Given that blaine is havine NO food (i.e. no carb, fat or protien) his urine would show it up after little more than a few days. If it took weeks then there is no doubt he is cheating as nobody can store glycos (sp?) for more than 2-3 days and as soon as that fuel is gone the body will burn fat and muscle by going into keytosis. I'm thinking he's got glycos in his water which would make the stunt easy for him. Of course going without food for that long probably wouldn't be hard anyway. Very quickly your metabolism drops to a snails pace and you never feel that hungry anyway.

just because you learned a little about the atkins diet doesn't mean you are qualified to know about the effects of starvation on the blood stream!

having seen him up there, its difficult to see it as a fake.

44 days is impressive, not because of the food as people on starvation diets have done more, its the insanity I would be more concerned about.

also agree with the big deal factor.

the thing that annoys me the most is that I haven't heard of the money being donated to charity. Its for him!

How many people, the homeless for example would risk what he is doing for £5 million?

He will end it with a trick though!
