Kid's School fees
#31
Anyone who decides to send their children to Public schools frees up cash for State Funded Education, theoretically improving it. These parents are paying twice for their children to be educated, directly and through taxation. They should be allowed Tax Relief on their Tuition Fees.
As should Private Health Care subscribers.

8500 euros a year last year.
10500 euros a year this year and next.
And when he hits IB - 14000+.
He goes there as he changed from a Mongolian to an American school at age 10 which retarded his education by at least a year (other kids had been learning English for 10 years, he'd been learning it for one) and I didn't want to kill his confidence or his chances by putting him into a Portuguese speaking school 2 yrs after that.
Not much choice here, the US school is even more pricey, one other Brit school is cheaper but universally considered not as good.
Work fund me about 4.5k per year, I cough up the rest. And he wonders why I shout when he doesn't bother with homework.
There's your next moral dilemma - if you put the kids in a pricey school, are you allowed to hold them to it?

My daughter did her first year at a state JMI school. Myself and another parent were called in to see the Headmaster. He informed us that our children were being a disruptive influence in class He went on to explain that our children were considerably brighter than their classmates and finished their set work way ahead of anyone else, thus becoming bored.
He suggested two options
1) He could put them both into a form, where their classmates would be a year older than them. The downfall with this was they would both have to do their final year in Juniors twice.
2) He strongly advised that if it was anyway possible a private education would benefit them both enormously.
I acted on his latter suggestion and I am so glad that I did, I am proud of what she has achieved, so Gordo it's nothing to do with one-upmanship or any other of your comments bar - wanting the best for your child.
