Yes, the've been advertising it on the telly here, but I havn't bothered with it yet. I'll take a look next time I pass a BP shop.

Quite why the Greek market needs it is a mystery though....

According to BP they test some products in small markets as Greece with "special" needs (Olympics and pollution is one) before they sell it in wide markets as UK, Germany etc
...For some reason they are trying to keep it under their hat, why I don't know...
Purity/mix with other fuel types from some stations may be?
We have this problem and believe me it' s better to know that 98 RON fuel is 98 RON rather buy 100RON and wonder if it is pure or mixed with NUL!

I travel 20 miles to buy Optimax for use in my motorbike, my Scooby and my TR7! Although it is on my way home. If BP are going to sell a 97 RON fuel I won't have to travel as far. Will it sell for the 77p litre Optimax is?

So if you have a Jap import (MY93 WRX) and had a scoobyecu remap done (to c.97/98 Ron) is it worth putting this 100 Ron stuff in?

You could have your car re-mapped for 100 octane if your ecu allows it.

I pay 80.9 for Optimax

I've mapped cars using V Power, its far better than Optimax plus booster just on its own. Optimax is 79.9 at the moment in Swindon, has been down to 76.9.

Yes it's here, but it's not cheap.

Unleaded costs E 0.75 (about 52 p) while the 100 RON sftuff is on sale at E 0.95 (about 66p). But that's still cheaper than unleaded in the UK!!

Just a got an email back from BP. They said that as and when they release this new fuel in other countries it will be "Commercially sensitive and confidential for competitive reasons".
In other words, bugger off I'm not telling you!

Yep, filled up this afternoon in my Spec C and it made a huge difference.
0-60 in 3 secs, 175mph top speed what a difference that extra 1.4 of a octane it makes

Wow, no wonder these scoobs in Japan are so fast. Regular unleaded here is 100 RON, Super Unleaded is >105 RON. That must be good for, what, 0-60mph in 1.5, top speed over 200 ?!

If you don't think there is a market for it - why would BP even contemplate introducing it?
I presume they have seen the sucess of Shell Optimax (which has re-vitalised the "Super Unleaded" market that was declining only a few years ago) and want some of the profits ....
Remember that they charge an extra 5p (ish) a litre and I understand it only costs another penny a litre to produce!

My 03 WRX runs so much smoother on 98 Octane - I would buy it, and as for the guys with Jap Imports, I imagine this would be a Godsend!

That wasn't fuel John, it was those smoked side indicator repeaters you fitted.

The reason for my interest. 100ron would make things so much easier. (although there is no bp garage near me. Hoping shell will raise theirs to compete)

the important thing is that it is apparently cracked into 100 ron, ie produced that way in the beginning, whereas optimax and V power are apparently super unleaded with octane boosters added.

OK just rang the BP press office and got put through to their head PR man in Milton Keynes and he just laughed when I asked about all this talk of 100 RON fuel comming out, the only thing 100 was him being 100% sure that the UK market would NOT be seeing any 100 RON fuel. He did say though that they are bringing out a new product but would not comment any futher. Sorry to pi55 on anyone's fireworks but I was really interested in this thread and had to find out for sure.
