I've had enough

rayc, i've got the same problem, but its intermittent. more hesitation than misfirin but i have had a couple of pops in the exhaust. keepin foot planted for 5 seconds or changin down the box and its fine.
cleanin the boost control solenoid made no difference. experience with previous motors leads me to believe its plugs or plug leads. will get these checked at next service (last time on a rover, one of those little caps on the end of the plugs had worked loose and only became a problem when hot for some reason).
then an escort with the same symptoms turned out to be the carbon plug leads breakin down (replaced with copper ones and fine).
i'd change the plugs myself, but they look like a pain in the *** to get to.
coil packs - normally they stop the car from startin i thought ?
