The people who didnt have access to the secret section were being labelled chavs by lofty, i wasn't given access to the secret section either, i just dont like people getting backstabbed when they dont even know its happening

Thats why i posted what i did, to let all no what was going on

Apparently, the prodrive tour arranged by quartz wasn't even good enough for lofty, he wanted his own tour without the chavs, his words

the meets over the last few weeks have been class..good turnout good banter..
i look on it that the bod's who dont turn up..miss out.there loss..imho

i understand that some posts had moved at the post creators request due to concerns over people who may be dodgy.

Fair point m8 but there could have put a more cohesive message on the board instead of the cryptic stab in the back nonsense. The technology exists for a round robin email for example.
There were a lot of HS members, all of whom deserved better than to have the plug pulled without any explanation.

And i dont see how lofty was stabbed in the back as were the ones who were kept out of it so really we were stabbed in the back by them

its obvious who the secret members are just hope their proud of themselves they can have their secret forum and stay there

we do apprieciate lofty doing the site we've had some good laughs and made some good friends what we dont appriciate is a secret section (why do you need one if not to s**g us off) its petty and because of it we've lost a good site

it dint take much to know that something was going on. Frankly i feel sorry for the people who held on so tightly to Hullscoobs that there grip became to hard to hold and forced them to do what they did by having to make secret places to get there kicks.

ketch division ill tell you something shall i lofty was the one person trying to keep everyone in both camps happy he set up a part where people did not have to read the endless crap posted by h/s myself included,threads hijacked with total crap was the order of the day.

so ketch division your choice of divide was just as great as any by any other member of h/s your paronoid thoughts of secret meets and what was going on behind your backs was also a factor in it going **** up .

so maybe everyone should wind there necks in give lofty a break.like you all say you have made good freinds, ketch division has a ring to it maybe you should run with it.

ketch was an open question of who would like to go there for a meet because no one was bothering to turn up to CPI so the people that posted back go every thursday and its a great turn out plus its better lighting and we have our own scoob space to park.

Plus were not paranoid about you all having secret sections were grown ups were not bothered think its just the case of if youve all got something to say then say it to our faces not in a secret forum.

As for the h/s posts been endless crap the majority of you posted on it and showed your views also but its always going to be a divide old vs new i thought all this was sorted out before guess not.

As i said its a shame to lose a great site.

OK then here goes......

Yes there was a private section set up which only a handful of people had access to. This was created because some of the long-standing members didn't take kindly to the influx of new members who appeared to be turning up, taking over, re-arranging meets, taking threads off-topic etc etc so consequently threatened to leave the site, which I thought was a shame. And yes, I have to admit that at that point in time my loyalties were with those people who I'd known for a long time rather than those I hadn't met. In hindsight, this was a BIG mistake. There were calls to ban certain users as their prescence was regarded as disruptive, confrontational and not in keeping with what HullScoobs used to be. Nobody was banned, in fact those people who were requested to be banned now seem to be best buddies with those who wanted to ban them. There are certain members of the site who have had personal differences with other members of the site and have fallen out, and in doing so have created something of a divide within the membership.

So yes, I am guilty of creating a private section within my website, but my only crime is allowing myself to be influenced and manipulated by those who I thought I could trust who I now realise were just using me to get what they wanted. I understand that it is easy for people to generalise and pin the blame fairly and squarely at my door but I refuse to be held totally responsible for everything that has happened.

It's very easy to make a judgement on someone you have never met based solely upon the way they post on a website. But your opinion of a person can change when you meet them and this has certainly been the case here. However, it's too late now, the damage has been done.

I have spent the last few weeks playing "piggy in the middle" trying to bridge the gap between the 2 halves of the membership. In doing so I now realise I have made a rod for my own back, and those who were manipulating me seem to have escaped blame completely!

I have NOT been reading PMs. When the website crashed last week I had to delve into the database to fix it. The database table containing the PMs was corrupt and needed to be repaired and whilst repairing the problem I came across some text accusing me of all sorts of things. I was surprised to learn that this text was between 2 of the members who had access to the private area of the forum. It turns out that those with access to the private area resented the fact that I chose to speak or associate with those who didn't have access to the private area. It seems that certain people were expecting me to support their private feuds and not speak to people with whom they were not speaking. Sorry, but I don't operate that like - I'll speak to who I want when I want and not snub people just because someone else is doing so. This issue was brought to a head within the private area of the website and resulted in something of a falling out between myself and other people within there. You may have noticed that one of the moderators on HullScoobs ceased to be a moderator last week.

As you can probably imagine, there's a lot more to it than what is posted above but I don't have the time nor the inclination to go into every single detail. All I'll say is if you are going to sign up to the new website thinking that you will escape all the backstabbing manipulative behaviour that I am being blamed for, just check out who the Administrator and Moderator are first - two of the most vocal members who had access to the private section on HullScoobs.

I am sorry for pulling the plug on the website but I've got far more important things going on in my life at the moment than worrying about what's going on with petty squabbles on a car forum. There are much more important things that need my attention right now and I can really do without the additional stress. The way things have panned out has really upset me, I hardly slept a wink last night.

I guess some of you will understand my position, some of you won't. I just hope that most of you will realise that I am not the malicious character assassinating criminal that I am currently being labelled as, and will stay in touch. The website is still there, just off-line so if there's anything you need from it email me at lofty@hullscoobs.co.uk and I'll oblige where possible.

I could have sworn that every thursday meet at the Ketch was posted on a thread and we stated plenty of times that its an open invite to new and old thats why we've had a nice mix of people coming.
Paranoid thoughts maybe? but not on my account.

The thursday night meets have been a great sucess recently with excellent turnouts,chat and most important lovly scoobs to look around with newbies turning up nearly everyweek. i trust this will continue.

Thanks again to Steve for all his hard work and we'll look forward to seeing you.
