I've already started that Si yes... I've hit MLR but haven't had a huge response, IMOC (MR2) have had a few yes', and I've hit the 300zx owners club and taken about 4 from there, but reckon a few more will....

IS anybody a member of the Nissan Pulsar Club or Skyline one?????

I'd probably be interested, but need to know 1 thing. I am planning to get a TEK 2 done at some point soon, would I be better of just getting one of these boost controllers instead? Would BHP be up to the same levels?
I think your getting your wire crossed, a TEK ECU will increase your BHP but the avcr will allow to control the amount of boost.

Well here is at stands at the moment...

We need at least 10 people to get them for £230 +£10 delivery. If we hit 20 we MAY get a little bit more off, may not, the guy wont know until he puts the order in. To be honest though either way is fine as they are silly cheap anyway. I will know today if the price he has given me is 110% true.

I have been speaking with MJ Designs (whom some of you already know) and they have offered to take credit card transactions for the buy, and settle up with me with a cheque as and when. All they will have to charge is a 3% charge for making the transaction and £5 on top for sorting it out, which I think is bloody good of em.... For example, the AVCR will cost £240 with postage, + 3% charge which is £7.20, plus a fiver, so it will cost you a total of £252.20. Exchange rate dependable so may be a few quid less, may be more, although the rate is very good at the moment (1.6 I think). You can still pay me the initial cost of £240 by cheque of course but it will have to be upfront.

If you could pass the info onto other forums Si it would be great. Leave my email address if they want other info etc...

I should be able to get the SAFC's and VAFC's cheap as well so mention that too.

Cheers
Chris

No problem mate. Email me on cfoster@tullib.com to confirm. Include your real name (unless it is Babber!) and what forum your on and I'll add you on the list.

Not sure about setting up. i have a guide for my MR2 Turbo and it doesn't look too complicated. I'm sure your local tuning place will know about them, or someone on here will.

I'm ordering in about 3 weeks time, and as long as they have it in stock they will post straight away so will only be a few days. If not then it may be an extra week on top. I will keep everybody informed of whats going on though.

Cheers

Apart from the 'feckin COOL!' factor. How much of a difference in power/ torque, in the 'real world' or other wise is the AVC-R boost controller to the dawes? Coming from someone who has been using the dawes very happily for well over a year, I'm just curious whether the AVC-R boost controller is that much better and worth the added expense or whether something like apexi's ECU or other would make more sense? Also, one major benefit, it seems the dawes has, is the ability to 'spool' up the turbo that little bit faster. Will this be lost with the AVC-R?

How do previous/ current owners rate it?

I drive a UK my98 so ECU Tek isn't an option unfortunately.

Cheers

I thought increasing boost did infact increase BHP?

I guess what I need to know before I give this a yes/no is, is this a better (i.e. cheaper and more gizmos) route to take than the TEK, in terms of power gains?

Any help appreciated

So is that £240 inclusive of the 17.5% VAT & 10% import duty (as well as the P&P)???

if I run this on a my99 will I need anything else with it like a gizmo to fool the boost sensor (MRP)
also if I get a remap ecu with more boost anyway can I still use this to further the boost or is this dodgy?

Making a few assumptions here.

The boost controller will allow better control over the target boost than what the ECU can. If the boost is set to just under fuel cut (i.e 17.5 PSi) then the boost should be 17.5 full stop.

I can't see that the boost controller will be any better than a Dawes, but will allow adjustment while in the car driving. I guess it would be better with a FCD (fuel cut defender) so fuel cut won't happen anymore, but you need to be very careful here. I have a Dawes AFM, and will be watching this carefully (along with the Knocklink) whilst I up the boost.

I'm sure all the above is a load of bollocks, but am waiting to be corrected

Phill

PS I'm getting mine as they look nice, and will allow much better control of my boost. Well worth £240 IMHO

Right, a fwe people have requested I get some prices for the following A'Pexi controllers. These prices are IF YOU ARE BUYING AN AVC-R as well.

APexi S-AFR - (will no this afternoon)

APexi RSM (Rev/Speed Meter) - £155 +p&p
http://www.apexi-usa.com/meters_revspeedmeter.asp

It also allows 2 settings changeable at the touch of a button. So, like me, you can have an everyday setting that is a bit easier on the drivetrain, turbo, engine etc. and a "play" setting where the boost is higher to give that extra bit of performance

Over the last few days the requests have gone a little thinner.. However, we have reached the needed number to get them for this price, so as long as everybody is happy with it, I will start collecting money at the END OF THIS WEEK. I wont be ordering though until everybody has paid up and the money has cleared.

Has anybody got a problem with this or will I have to wait another fortnight to order? I can take credit card orders as mentioned earlier but there is a 3% charge plus a fiver. (a company have kindly offered to do this for me).

Cheers

Question

On the website they mention a pressure sensor. Will that come with the AVC, or will it have to be ordered. Is it needed as well, another good point? AVC Type-R (Digital) Wire Harness is mentioned, once again ??

The pressure sensor isn't included and not needed I dont think. It will be worth checking with a mechanic in the know first. As for the harness, back in the thread someone mentions this and its not needed.
