BAH

Ive had my car six months, from the dealer its a MY98 UK Turbo done 18k when i got it in March so its now due a service (minor oil change filter and sump plug washer), they quoted me £98+parts +Vat...

They told me if i didnt get it done there my warranty would be void (2 year dealer warranty not subaru warranty)

So i thought **** this i phoned the underwriter for this 2 year warranty and they said....no problem sir just send us writern confirmation that you want to nominate another dealer and it wont be a problem..

So there is a local garage near me that specialise in high performance cars (not a subaru dealer) he quotes me £70inc vat and parts do the oil change and says he will give the car the once over to see if they is any other bits that need attention.

He had the car 2 hours and used Castrol RS oil and genuine subaru filter aswell.. and gave me a report of a few problems the car has.....

Report said .....
Front brake hoses clips missing
Front anti-roll bar link bushes worn
N/S Engine rocker cover gasket leaking
O/S Front Drive shaft output seal leaking
rear brake discs worn
Front tyres worn on inside edge
Front wheel camber setup required.

He even washed it and hoovered it out and deliverd the car back to me.......

K T Greens last week:
15,000 miles service (oil change)& body service.

Left car about 10:30AM, car ready about 1PM.

I supplied my own oil and filter, I was charged £164 + VAT for a maximum of 2.5hrs labour and a bit of waxoil.

I will be finding a different dealer for my next service!
