thats the only thing i dont really like about my RA's styling, is the lack of skirts, personally i think it somehow looks 'unfinished'. esepcially from a low angle where you can see the scraggy underside of the sills, they look a mess on my whit car cos they're so visible. I suspect on any other colour you wouldnt notice them so much.
Peccy, does your type R have the shorter gear ratios? Also does the type R have any of the creature comforts in it?
i'll take a couple of pics of my baby & post em here....

TypeR has all the creatue comforts. lecy windows, folding mirrors, aircon, stereo etc. A must have in my view for everyday cars. I would not enjoy owning a car without them

Like the Type RA Ltd, the Type R Ltd has the longer 0.738 ratio 5th as an option. The std ratio is 0.825.

Cheers

yep, mine came with the higher 5th, but i didnt like the big ratio jump, so swapped it for a normal TypeRA 5th, it revs higher on the motorways but as an overall package i prefer it. Standard RA is actually 19.4MPH/1000rpm.

Thanks jabbroni.

I prefer the non skirt look, it makes the car look less overweight IMHO.

I've gone the other way to John for the better cruising, but prob going to do the clutch b4 Christmas and put the full set of 4door STI/UK Turbo ratios in 1-4th as well.

See mine at http://www.chpltd.com/japanese_performance/engineers.html

My RA is 19mph at 1000 revs in 5th gear. The gearing for me is fine. Outside of a track day doing anything faster than 7,000 rpm in 5th is not going to happen very often so i dont really worry about it.

Ever since i have had the RA I just love the car, its just RAW power. Its just a joy to drive - it can be hard work with the ABS some times but thats the edgy part of driving one..(endless smiles to come)

As someone quoted to me once about their scooby

"Once you've had flat four you'll never turn back"...sure he ment the scooby..:-)

"Don't be mistaken, this is THE ultimate Rally Fugitive weapon to kill Evo's, etc, etc - probably the most impressive standard specification car to come from any manufacturer from Japan"

And nearly forgot the back!

This was bought in May to replace my WRX My93 which I had 3 1/2 years. I love the Type R to bits! It came standard apart from a Trust cat back. I've fitted gauges, mats and pedals. The V6 front lip, clear repeaters, WRC sun visor and a K&N panel.
Enjoy your V6'S

O.K vent open! it normaly is (below 50mph)

THe side skirts are just held on with a 2 part clips. 1 part clips onto the skirt and the other with a seal clips onto the car. Then they clip together. I don't know weather the RA already has the holes or markings for you to drill them.
As to where to get them not sure Main dealer would have them but may be expensive!

Cool

Peccy

They are Team Dynamics Racing Pro Race One wheels, full on competiton wheels - only weigh 8kg

The don't do them in gold, so I bought them in white and had them sprayed Subaru Saffron Yellow

They now do them in bronze, bet they would look smart

Tiss

Crystal fronts with silver bulbs,
Clear sides with orange bulbs.

The crystal fronts match the `99 headlight really well
