I cant seem to find a picture on the link of a 3 gauge centre pod.
I have seen the defi style pods and they look great.
If these are the same then put me down for a 3 gauge centre 52mm for an MY98.
Thanks.
Greg

Has anyone looked at Merlin Motorsport, at Castle Coomb car park?
Their website is not very good, but it does show one image, on the front page of products go down to guages, select it and it will come up.
or press this Link,
I have their paper catalogue and they look the same as any pillar or dash mounted multiple pod.
I phoned them and the prices (+ VAT) are as follows:
Pillar mount double = £21.27 triple = £29
Centre mount triple = £21.27
They do them in carbon look or leather grain.
Anyone nearby to go and have a look?
If someone rings them with numbers they can sort out some discount.![Big Grin](images/smilies/biggrin.gif)
Tony
p.s. At that price I shall be interested in a double pillar in carbon fibre style, but haven't got time to organise a group buy.![Frown](images/smilies/frown.gif)

Just spoken to Merlin, these pods are general pods i.e fit 'em where you can.
Fine if you like that sort of thing. I tell what it has done though
Once again it's highlighted how much over the top we pay for this type of stuff.
FFS Universal gauge pod that will look a bit tacky for £30 or you could get one that specifically fits your car (Although it's the same material just a different mold) and pay the best part of 100 notes for it. [img]images/smilies/mad.gif[/img]
Roll on the actual proper group buy prices as the prices that are being mentioned sofar are still quite barking!!(£65
you are having one are you not? ) That's not a group buy price, that's what i can get one for now at!

I agree with Gridlock.
£47 for a part thats only £50 anyway !
Not exactly the sort of discount I expected.
Come on Jamie, you dropped your prices more than that at the NBO !

Suppliers! If you are buying a part that you sell for a megre profit, shouldn't you be talking to YOUR supliers instead of getting ya customers to take the hit?
i.e (Only examples so go easy
)
You buy a centre pod for £55
Postage £5
Sell it for £65
£5 profit
We ask for a group buy discount, you say No way dudes, there's only a fiver in it.
Go back to your supplier and say "Oi!, That centre pod you sold me for £55. Sell me 10 (or however many are in the group buy) for £40.
He'll probably say "Bugger off, they cost me £52 to make/buy" Two things: Keep the pressure on (£400 quid very quickly sounds very tempting to a guy used to earning £3 per unit) and he'll probably meet you half way or suggest that THEY are buying thier stock to expensivley.
What's the worst that could happen? The price stays the same!
It's what I do when my margins are squeezed. I go back to the manufacturer and ask 'em to do me a deal. Most of the time they do!![Big Grin](images/smilies/biggrin.gif)
I can then pass some of that saving onto the customer (He's happy cos he gets decent prices) AND I get to make a little extra for my company![Big Grin](images/smilies/biggrin.gif)
Try it, you'll be suprised how easy it is to negotiate a deal (nb A Deal is an arrangement where BOTH parties benefit. If only one party benefits, it's a CON
)

<Not for a moment suggesting that suppliers cannot run thier businesses or indeed that they haven't got a million other things to be doing during a day

The prices we quoted Steve were to get the ball rolling, to let him know what we could do and something for him to use as bait to other suppliers. If anyone beats those prices for the same quality of product then we've no problem with that at all.
The prices should read as follows
Single/Double A Pillar £45 (Normal Price £55)
Triple A Pillar £54 (Normal Price £65)
Centre Pod(post97classic) £65 (Normal Price £80)
(there was a typo re £45/47 on my email to Steve)
We've tried to offer approx 20% off our regular prices for the group buy which I think is fairly generous.
Whether we're too expensive in the first place is another matter![Wink](images/smilies/wink.gif)

Look, this thread is going on forever. I've ordered three guages from the group buy and need a centre pod for MY03 WRX but I dont want something that looks like it just crawled off the Blue Peter set full of stick-back plastic etc.
As we have so much interest, surely there must be a name of the manufacturer for Defi etc. who will be prepared to do us a group buy at a far more realistic price and quality we will all be happy with.
So does anybody know who makes these?
I'm happy to make the call and negotiate if that helps
Apologies up front if I've stepped on anyones toes just want to have a deal but soon
Regards
Supercue

On the basis that no ****** has picked this up......................and you supplier dudes had your chance [img]images/smilies/mad.gif[/img] (What's the matter, can't rip us off enough on a pod [img]images/smilies/mad.gif[/img] only earn £gazillion on a pod!(Unless it's a group buy or some poor unsuspecting dude thats never had a scoob) Hey Bet it's not worth getting up for that eh? ) Phone this guy. Top man, spent years doin cossies so he's got cossie prices.Spent an hour or so at his premises, he wants to earn a little often, rather than a lot first
He knows what side his bread is buttered on though. Mass market, loads of little profits make a big profit![Wink](images/smilies/wink.gif)
Rather have you come back over the years to buy proper stuff than rip you for a one off "pod"![Big Grin](images/smilies/biggrin.gif)
Mikey
<**** the overtly expensive "Dick Turpins" Enough is enough. It's bloody fibre glass!"
<Drunker than a hundred very drunk things>
Got me a 3 gauge pod for next to nothing
'cos i knew that £65 + for a bit of moulded fibreglass was out of order and needed to let you chaps know!
