What else illegal gets discussed openly on here? Genuinely intrigued, as we try to avoid this...
Maybe a visit to NSR will highlight this

Nick

you are a good mod.. I believe you have asked a good question and i think you want a honest answer.

I can understand very little why its a major problem..

Thumbs down

gtr-man: the reason this thread is posted by the mods in this forum and not the Policy forum is because it is a specific point that relates to this forum and the mods want to be sure people that use this forum will read it. Are you so stupid you can't even figure that out?

This is a real SIAL topic - the potential legal threats for a BBS owner are many, so why should they take the risk, especially for whiners like you and others.

Yes, other illegal activities are discussed on here but not in the sense of someone asking how to do it. And usually, when some kn0bhead posts about some speeding escapade, he's ignored, slapped down or mocked by other posters. Also, if you talk about speeding on the BBS, no-one is going to come and sue the BBS owners because of it. If you talk about pirating copyrighted property then there are companies - aggressive, litigious, deep-pocket companies - that may sue. it may be unlikely, but if it happens the consequences are very bad for those involved (i.e. BBS owner), and they are quiet entitled to be conservative about that risk.

Get real.

Like i said "Maybe a visit to NSR will highlight this"

Not naming names/specific threads but other illegal requests have been made in a forum not too far away and VERY recently.

But, getting back to the point... Nick was RIGHT to lock the threads in question and i agree with the SN policy on discussing illegal activity. It should be a global policy and not just on one specific topic.

there are often people asking about how to get out of paying speeding fines etc and get plenty of replies.
