Phil

I saw a post on Scoobynet where a white STi 8 had the new Prodrive spring kit fitted....looked like it was sitting at the height it was designed for....SMART

Midlife..

Small diversion re STi8...I was looking at one at SP's this week Black gold Mica. Stunning... ..buy me..buy me it was saying apart from the really shi**y (and I mean shi**y) looking bonnet stripe in red. I thought who the **** will buy a car with that sort of thing stuck on the bonnet.

I told Ian who quietly advised me that it was a red line they use to tell customes which side of the car has been Scotchguarded.

Im picking up my springs tomorrow, and im arranging a trip to powerstation to have the kit fitted along with solid drop links and a bigger rear ARB and then a full set-up

I have not seen a piccy of a car with the kit fitted yet, fingers crossed it looks smart

Midlife...

Jamie (whitfield) "does / is doing" a similar thing to your STi8 for the "bugeye", about half way between Faster Mike's tyre scraping against the wheel arch and the Eibach's I have...tempted

Hey Gussy

It could well have been me...I'm not a morning person and once fell asleep and drove into the oncoming traffic (Ford Escort DRH 401T written off).. very messsy

Do you know "Crack" who works at Sellafield ??

see thread

http://www.scoobynet.co.uk/bbs/thread.asp?threadid=253591

Where was I ?? Ahh.. Brakes !! is there any milage in getting braided hoses to sharpen up the brake pedal. The ABS seems to cut in pretty early especially during the "circuit of Roundabout Junction 44"

Midlife.....

Steve

As for brakes just the standard MY02 car..starting to realise that after decat, eibachs, Tek2 etc that I might need to stop as well as go

I thought I'd mail Jamie Whitworth about slowing down rather than speeding up ? So what stops your 300BHP monster ??

got hi spec 6 pots and fecken big disks with braided hoses , and eibach springs...(big prob with geo at moment, back to S.P'S wed)

trashed std spec brakes and 2 sets of group N spec discs and pads before hand ... was trying to save money but cost a mint m8.

If u fit hoses pads and disks suffer

Steve and Faster

Stopping the damn thing was something I completely forgot about..bugger.

Thanks for the advice (Steve) about just doing the hoses, I've mailed JW racing to see if they have a cheap "godspeed" type equivalent (thanks Faster) !!

No probs midlife

Yep, godspeed are big disks.. U get rid of the heat and hence less fade . U don't increase contact area on the disks

Look good though

midlife you'll find that the godspeed kits are quite reasonably priced for what they are.

Faster, Steve, Abbey, Gussy

Still trying to sort what to do about slowing down better. Godspeed front brake conversion about 595 but JW do a "stoppers kit" at a couple of hundred and also an AVO front disk conversion about 50 quid cheaper than Godspeed. Stop laughing whoever bought Steve Sherwen's kit .......

Its at

Midlife, out of those suggestions you might as well get the godspeed clobber, people have complained about them on here before, but its usually because delivery delays and all that type of thing, don`t think i`ve seen any posts saying they were cr@p......quite the opposite

Or you could get a set of daddy 6-pots like Steve Em, but then steve has got a heavy right foot lol (he`s says in a 'not like me' tone

Does that make sense? i`m tired
