There is one thing the scooby can do that the mitsi can't.

The noise from the flat four!!

Have had a look through old threads but still not sure about an exhaust.

The scoobysport sounds nice (i got a wav file of it) and my mate has one on his turbo. Good to live with too as its not too loud.

Problem is its £330 delivered. The same thing from Magnex/Scorpion is £100 less. Does anyone have either of these?

I would like the well known burble, but I dont want to wake the neighbours at 4am!!!

Why buy a scooby over an EVO ??

- Flat 4 burble
- Availability of 2nd hand gear is far better (ie cheaper)
- Same age of car is less money
- Wider service intervals (the evo 8 is still 4500 !!! )
- Fuel economy is better on the scooby (however this shouldn't really be taken into account if you're entering into the true spirit of these cars )
- More aggressive, less 'rep mobile' looking styling

At the end of the day though, it really just comes down to personal 'gut feel' preference.
You could argue all day about which is quickest off the shelf, which is most easily tuneable, and what the maximum power you can squeeze out of them is, but being completely honest about it - they are both well made, incredibly quick cars which do almost identical jobs. Personally I prefer the subaru image, but if you want something a bit more unusual, go for the EVO. If you really want all out power, forget these 2 altogether and go for a Skyline .

I'm sure an EVO owner could give me a similar list to counter mine, and that's fine. Those will be things that are important to that particular person, and that's what life's about - choice !! Some people may be put off by the fact that there are more subarus around than evo's - fine ! Personally I like the community spirit of the subaru, and while I know it exists with EVO drivers, there aren't as many around so the freindly wave's are going to be pretty infrequent.

BUT what puts me off an EVO the most, is the attitude of the staff at the showrooms !!! If I was made to feel a bit less like a fart in a space suit when I visited their showrooms, I might be tempted to have one, but they make you feel so incredibly unwelcome that I think I've been put off for life !! Maybe there's good reasons for this but when I turn up one day in a P1 and then again in a Skyline, and I still don't get offered a test drive, I start to wonder what their after sales service is like !!! Amybe I've just been unlucky, but a combination of all the above and probably some other factors is keeping me loyal to Subaru. To such an extent in fact that I'm thinking of selling my 500bhp Skyline and keeping the P1 rather than the other way round. An EVO 6 is still a tempting proposition sometimes, I can't deny that, but not quite tempting enough.

Anyway, that's my tuppence. If any of the above points are incorrect, then I apologise, but that's what I've picked up over the years (from EVO drivers mostly BTW) !! At the end of the day whichever car you choose, you're unlikely to be disappointed so why not try both and then you can give us your opinion in a couple of years !

HTH !
