'Its unnatural. Thats what.'
Why ?, nature created humans, humans have sex with each other, be it same sex or 'regular', like the man said it aint modern and animals do it, if male's float your boat so be it, I have tried to see it from a 'gay' perspective and cant, dont fancy blokes full stop but if the tables were turned and I felt the same way about men that I do about women it would be very difficult to stick to women because convention says thats what I should do, you only live once and you have to follow your instincts. I find it very difficult to go anywhere without sharking for T and A, crude I know but at least I am honest.
I would have probably have got way more ******** done if I had been gay !
However.....
A mate of mine decided he was gay when we were about sixteen, following a party at his house I passed out on the settee having got really drunk and neither of us pulled, I was awakened to somebody touching my **** with one hand and manhandling himself with the other, he told me I had a nice **** and he fancied me for a long time so I told him to leave it out and that he would regret his actions in the morning but he persisted and as I sat up he tried to thrust his member in my face, this enraged me so I jumped up, bad mistake having drank two bottles of cheap plonk, ate a huge Chinese meal and smoked ten **** ( first and last time I ever smoked), I stood up and spewed generously from the setee, all over the lounge through the dining room and into the kitchen sink, amazing how quickly he lost his 'enthusiasm', I got on my bike and pedalled home pissed, confused upset and covered in puke.
Got home and told my mum and she was flabbergasted and said she had always expected him to be gay (cheers for pointing that one out after the event mum !), told our circle of freinds and he had a rough time and I didnt speak to him for three plus years and considering he was my best mate for years we never really spoke much at all after that. He has ended up getting married (to a woman !)
I dont think he was gay, just confused, horny and pissed but I wasnt going join in, I am very glad I woke up when I did.
Still, I havent any problems with gays as they seem to know who is and who isnt wheras my ex-mate was just plain weird.
We lost him one boozy night, found him starkers w4nking in a tree, lost him on a foggy night whilst out walking aged about 14 and he emerges at full tilt from the gloom bollock naked sporting a splendid erection.

They've had a serial killer, a bigamist, a trans-sexual, a witness protection family, a drugs den, a terror suspect, a *****, a rapist, a paedophile, etc., all in the same tiny street. Is this typical England? If so, I'm emigrating to somewhere normal. Iraq, for example.

Charlie,
Why do you say that I think your an areshole. I dont and have never said so.
Evil,
What a pathetic remark you make about me raising my children. Because you dont like my opinions on gay ppl you think Im not worthy of raising kids. Now THAT is small minded. I have two kids who have been brought up very well thank you. They are also entitled to their own views as well which I will admit probably arent the same as mine. Do not tell what and what not to teach my kids.
You go on to say you cant be bothered .Then why post what you did. Bit of a hypocrite as well then.
Why is my opinion a small minded one. Just because its not the same as yours is it? How small minded that you assume everyone has the same views as you.
I think we will just have to agree to disagree on this subject but whatever the outcome no hard feelings on this side of the fence. I hope you can say the same.
Cheers
Chip

Maybe gay men aren't into subarus, Tel...
I've had a sexual experience with a man. twice in fact. there you go. I'm not gay but at least I've given it a go
(that's not why I'm selling the STi BTW
)
Chip - I hope you didn't take my remarks too seriously; it was just that you seemed to have a bit of an axe to grind, that's all. Like you say, we can agree to differ.

PC, possibly, but i imagine in reality the stats on here are roughly "average".
Which means several dozen members (ahem) are reading this from the sidelines afraid of the possible consequences of "coming out".
And if you add in the others who, like you, have had some sort of "experience", fleeting or otherwise, that's a lot of blokes out there with a wry smile on their faces in front of the pc....

Tel - well i'm pretty thick skinned and i thought twice about it. i mean, i have met some people off here in "real life" and it occurred to me that they would be like - oh yeah, he's the queer bloke - if i met them for a drink or whatever. but what the hell; i've got no probs with it, i'm gonna be a dad, the wife knew about it in any case, so what does it matter?

To a degree I am with Chip on this one. Gay people who keep their lives to themselves and dont have to make a huge issue out of their sexuality then I have no problem with. Gays who have to openly flout their sexuality by being outrageous exhibitionists should be burnt at the stake and removed from the gene pool as far as I am concerned as I don't need to know about their disgusting behaviour.
My first boss at a bank I worked at was gay. I never knew until the other lads told me. He was a genuine bloke, got on well with him as a boss and could have a laugh and chat with him just like any other bloke in the office. He made no issue of his sexuality and didn't feel the need to tell everyone. If all gay blokes were like that I'd have no issues with them. I considered him a mate at work and a top bloke.
My second boss who replaced him was also gay, except he was the campest fairy you could ever meet and made a huge issue out of his gayness. This I did not need every day at work and I hated him for it. Couldn't get on with him if my life depended on it, and in fact it was him who made me redundant surprise surprise. He would prance about the office like a total tw@t and would have to listen to him telling the girls about his boyfriends etc. I absolutely hated him because of the fact he had to make you know about his sexuality and his boyfriends. He couldn't be further on the other end of the scale to my first boss. They were both gay, yet one I found acceptable, the other I didn't. I think this is why I agree with Chip, its not necessary to promote this attitude/behaviour on television. Its not the fact they are gay, its the fact it has to be promoted in the first place when as far as I am concerned its not normal behaviour. If my son was to turn on the tele and see it, why should I have to explain to him why two men are kissing?

Good point Jason. Telly is just one source of "gayness", and in fact might be more controllable in that you're possibly more likely to be there with your son, and it will be easier to tell him whatever you feel is appropriate.
Do wholeheartedly agree about the flouting thing though. Why some men feel the need to do this is totally beyond me.

someone made a point here about gays flaunting their sexuality, well why not!! Straight people do, i walk up and down the street holding hands with rich no one worries about that, it should be the same for gay people!
How does a teenage boy with gay feelings think of himself of anything more than a freak with this attitude. 'its abnormal boy' 'keep it too yourself, dont tell anyone' 'your an outcast' Its like being gay is a dark terrible secret (much like chris L said attitudes of 1903!)
Someone very close to me is gay, i come from a very narrowminded community (rural mid-wales) and it was all secret, he couldn't be himself. He got thrown out of 2 pubs in town just because he was gay. He lives in London now and hes absolutely loving it, he can be himself and has no shame in expressing his sexuality.
Oh and btw whoever said it wasn't natural, well it is, studies of apes have shown that they can have gay feelings too.
plus i know this isn't quite the same but dogs and other mammals often go for the same sex when the other isn't available.

What I found interesting is the fact that the producers must have thought this out and determined, objectively, that such a storyline would help maintain current viewing figures and hopefully increase them.
Thats how I guess it should have gone.
If they didn't the backlash (so to speak) could be an interesting one
