Bits 'n' pieces,
I'd be consulting a solicitor asap on this one. My mechanic was caught doing 127 on his ducati with a female passenger only wearing shorts, sandals and a t-shirt. He was jailed for 28days but the Procurator Fiscal said he'd have jailed him anyway for the speed he was doing even if he didn't have a passenger!
I hope it works out for you and maybe try to keep to two figures in future.......

Crikey! Looking at the fines and point on this thread, I think 6 points and a £500 was pretty steep for 61 in a 30 zone back in 98.
Bl**dy essex police - always hiding behind bushes by clear country roads on sunny sunday afternoons. Grrr! I have to agree that most of us with any form of performance machines have opened it up from time to time.
Good luck!

Boxst,
Yes it does seem somewhat harsh but i've heard the law looks upon speeding as life endangering and therefore will punish the 'speeder' more harshly than other, seemingly more criminal, activities because of that.

The Scotish Judges take a keener stance than in England, with me circumstances in England it should have been a heavy fine and good spanking! Biker was being v-silly and judge was most likly pushes as she had no protection...

I got my Gran to take the rap for me doing 124mph through town. I forgot that she hasn't got a driving licence and so wasn't insured so not to drop myself in it even more i had to say she took the car without my permission!!! As she's 77 i assumed the judge would think she's going a bit batty and let her off but he gave her 2 years inside!!! Hopefully she'll be out for Xmas so'll i'll probably make the effort to get her a present and pop round and she her this year. Bless.
