Speaking as an total newB in a scoob...
i got my 01 Bugeye 6 weeks ago
on the drive back from milton keynes when i picked it up
i got waved at by another blue bugeye.... well he raised his finger at me... in a village (as i was going the country lanes way rather M1...)
i was well chuffed... i didnt know about all the waving until i spoke to a mate who has a clasic

since then i wave at every scoob i see... though there is one guy in a another blue bugeye on the way to work that i occasionally pass and he ignores me every time!!! ... i keep trying...

I would have to say so far i get more people ignoring the wave than those that wave back... apart from the one guy on the first day no one else has waved me first...

though i did have some fun on the way back from Scotland on the M74 with a green classic... though i drew the line at going over 120...

on the whole i would say i enjoy the whole Scooby scene and am doing my first Scooby meet in Derby this weekend hopefully!

i think what is important that you wave at everyone... whether they wave back or not aint important....

so long as you are enjoying yourself!

I've owned an old and new shape (can't stand this Classic business) and wave the same amount to the same response. Get over it.

When I had my MY01 WRX and 03 STIPPP I didn't wave as I didn't wanna call attention to myself and the inferior car I was stuck in LOL

I always wave at other Scoobs (I have an 03 WRX) - but only get a 50% hit rate, as most of the one's who don't wave back are classics. I don't care - as I've tried to be friendly!

Keep on wavin' I say.
When bought 1st Scoob 3yrs ago (MY97) was surprised to be waved at.
Realised that it was a genuine cult car.Same no longer true re cult - Scoob sort of victim of it's own success.

But still wave at ALL Scoobs (oops - not Foresters/Legacys unless overtly got at; not snobbery, just don't spot them as easily) and agree with 50/50 response rating.

Posted rant few months ago re P1 drivers too elitist to wave at WRX03 - did get an apology!

Just like to add but some people actually keep their eyes on the road sometimes also their are people who own scoobies who are not members of scoobynet or any other enthusiaste forum, so because they are not aware that you are there and might not participate in forums and meets,

doesn't actually make them t0$$ers does it ???

maybe this is generalising against new age owners especially when some classic owners are guilty of the same
