Don't i get a prize?
7 Andrew Wolfe - 12.88/ 0.408 reaction time.
In a 93 legacy with 190,000 on the clock and i blew my gearbox on the strip![Big Grin](images/smilies/biggrin.gif)
I suppose 12,88 is a prize all on its own![Smile](images/smilies/smile.gif)
Edited cos my reaction time was faster than i had expected!

There were some excellent times today, and the finals were really exciting to watch. For a moment there, we thought we were going to get a real shock result !!!

Andy, now now
. I did feel i had a good start against Harvey, ie quicker reaction, and i honestly thought when i was in 2nd, i was going to be away. The start felt as good as my 12.16 run, until 5000 rpm when the clutch slipped, there is video footage of the final in members i think.
I then fluffed my gearchange too![Roll Eyes (Sarcastic)](images/smilies/rolleyes.gif)
I had already run against Harvey earlier, and was the victir there, for whatever reason.
Steven:![Wink](images/smilies/wink.gif)
ps still smiling at coming 2nd, honestly did not expect to do well at all.

Andy,
Nothing to do with "wishful". Fact is, Steven got a better start than Harvey, and as you well know, in the final, it's "first across the line".
Wouldn't have meant Stevens car was quicker, which it clearly isn't, but it would have been a "shock" result
![Big Grin](images/smilies/biggrin.gif)
Just think, up until Sunday, Harvey's best time was 12.28 sec', and he's damn lucky that you were able to re-tune his car on Saturday for him. Otherwise, the result could have been VERY interesting.
It's hardly surprising that Harvey won, with circa 140bhp, and 100ftlbs more than Steven.
Considering his state of tune, and the fact that AFAIK, he has the 3rd quickest 1/4 in the UK, bettered only by you, and Harvey, with many other cars out there claiming considereabley more power, it's a shame that you can't just congratulate him on his achievement![Roll Eyes (Sarcastic)](images/smilies/rolleyes.gif)
Tell you what, if we said it had a TD05, instead of an MD304, and someone else mapped it, other than me, could you manage it then ???
Same applies for Tim Whiteside's 12.3 1/4.........
Mark.

Stop taking it so personally, I give lots of people a winding up, especially the EVO peeps on MLR or when they venture on the Scotland forum
And up until Sunday, remind me what Stevens best time was ??
There is another scoob up here runs 11.9 It's the CRD one. So make that 4th quickest ![Smile](images/smilies/smile.gif)
I have already said that Steven had an excellent result, although low 12's are about what I would expect from circa 360bhp.
It's the terminals and max speeds that make more interesting reading, that's more a measure of power rather than technique.
Andy
PS Well done everyone![Big Grin](images/smilies/biggrin.gif)

Andy,
Just saw the post by Calder Racing, but then again, it was at that dodgy Crail
![Big Grin](images/smilies/biggrin.gif)
Just tried putting some figures into the TurboFast calculator, but they don't make much sense.
Your car: 1260kg/11.66 gives 345bhp ATW's 117mph
Harveys: 1510kg/11.74 gives 405bhp ATW's 116mph
Stevens: 1480 (?) 12.16 gives 358bhp ATW's 112mph
I know you spoke of 8% offsets, for type of gearbox, but using the figures PURELY for COMPARISON, they seem weird ?
I know that Chris said that the trap speeds were playing up again on Sunday (IIRC some cars were getting 14 sec'/130mph !) and even though Harvey's car was very much quicker than his last outing (128mph) I think his best was 119mph this time.
I think we need to have a big Santa Pod meet next year, and get some definitive times ??
Mark.

While not an impreza, Michaels legacy did a 12.08 at Elvington in August.
Andys car did go faster that day, but he did also have very sticky tyres.
I think most others ( Harvey and Steven ) are using bog standard road tyres to achive their times, and all with much heavier cars.
Every little bit does help though, and racing tyres will be used next time we are over to the strip hopefully.

If i could be arsed to put on my fmic and do the other bits and bats i've got in the pipe line, you know you'd all (even you Andy

Mark,
When I did my 1st 1/4 in 12.2 @ 113 (in 30+degree heat) I apparently had 250ish hp ATW. I know there was a lot of scepticism at the time (Adam
) about the Vboxs accuracy (strange now that it's THE benchmark for performance testing)
So - what is going on with all these cars that have apparently considerably more power, yet the times don't really bear that out?
Were my HP proper English/German ones and all the rest are Japanese or American?
I'm not dissing anyones cars here, especially Stevens and Harveys - much more impressive to get a good time out of a proper road car than a lightweight with road legal slicks etc.

Harveys: 1510kg/11.74 gives 405bhp ATW's 116mph
So if Harvey had 405bhp at the wheels, surely he will be close to him and running low 10s or possibly high 10s?
I know your results are based on calculations but doesnt this show the formula for calculations is wrong?

Andy,
The weights of yours, and Harveys car have been posted by Harvey. I used these.
Harvey has weighed his car at 1510kg, it's fair to assume that Stevens wagon will be of a similar weight ?
You are claiming circa 440bhp for your car, with an 11.66 1/4.
You have said that Harvey has circa 500bhp, and he has done an 11.74 1/4.
Harvey's car is 250kg heavier than yours, but he has more power, so I would say that his "technique" is there, or there abouts.
We agree that the terminals are suspect, but we do have accurate weights, and ET's.
I simpley input the info into a calculator YOU said was quite good. I CLEARLY stated that I was looking at the power figures COMPARATIVELY, not as accurate.
Sorry, are you trying to gleen something from Michael achieving 12.08 at Elvington, compared to 12.2 at Crail ? a .12 difference.
Maybe his starts just weren't quite so good, or the surface not quite so sticky, or the timing gear's not calibrated against each other, or the tracks have slightly different elevations, or, maybe, just maybe his new engine is slightly slower than the last one ????
My last post wasn't intended to start an arguement with you, and neither is this one.
Mark.

I can only guess they were expecting Andy to appear out of the blue yonder.

I cannot remember you running against me at any time other than in the final. You must have me confused for somebody else.
In the final I was ahead of you long before I changed out of first gear and I thought you had thrown the towel in.
"Andy F:
Keep em coming Steven That's - Pluglead off, Missed gearshift, Clutch slipping, No octane booster, Low boost, Heavy wagon, UK internals......... get that lot sorted and you should be running low 9's easily
Andy"
Andy this guy`s got a handicap.
"I am not making excuses Andy, just telling you the facts
Will be sorted after christmas
Steven"
So lets stick to the facts. By 11.00am I had posted my first two results of 12.04 secs each. Your best time for the day was a very impressive 12.16. My best time was 11.74 and in both the semi final and final I posted 11.77 secs against your 13.72 final. Like I said I thought you had thrown in the towel.
Steven : I had hoped that Scooby Shootout would put a stop to a lot of the bull ****. Your 12.16 was a very good result considering your 12.5 at TOTB. Why embellish and romance about the thing when your achievement was already considerable.
Mark."

Harvey,
11.77 with a fluffed gear change is even more impressive ! Well done on your 501bhp by the way.
True, but I think your 11.74 was even better, considering your previous best of 12.28 !!!
I think the video of the final shows what happened best.
