Impreza ownership has cost me another £500

LOL
I do drive it, up until this week every day for the last 6 months rain or shine.
It was a good alternative to a motorbike. In this day & age you need to be protective or some slag will nick it.
run-of-the-mill scratches you got me there?
No it wont, I'll abandon it and it will not cost me a penny.
In fact if the car serves me until April, the money I saved in fuel will have paid the £500 the car cost.
Not mad, but paranoid I agree with.
no comment
The Jurys still out
Drive the bl**dy thing
Why buy it in the first place if you are sooooo protective????????
Ppl buying a second car just to preserve the mileage or stop run-of-the-mill scratches..it beggars belief!!!!
Running a piece of cr*p is no fun and still costs ££££££ when the thing breaks down

You will end up going mad if you have such a paranoid attitude about putting a few extra miles on the clock or keeping it mint
For all those who have bought a second car for those very reasons then shame on you. Next you will be having a sex change and joining womens lib
Case dismissed

I ran a 2nd car a few years back, just to keep my pristine car that way. I had a Sierra XR4X4 as the heap. Trouble was I ended I got on a slippery slope with it. First I treated it to a performance exhaust, then a K+N air filter, a respray. Then I realised I was running two modified cars and I was skint. It had to go !
Now I have just a scoob. I belong to the whats the point of having if your afraid to use it school of thought. I park it carefully but even so I know sooner or later it will collect a dink or two. Yes I will drive it in all seasons, come rain or shine. At the end of the day, that car will be giving me pleasure every day doing the things it was designed for - not sitting in a garage.
Just my opinion and we are all different

I see the general theory behind running a "shed" aswell as the scooby but....
Surely the biggest running costs are insurance and depreciation. You still have to pay these even if youre NOT using it.
2 x Insurance
2 x Road Tax
2 x Depreciation
Is it really worth it?
Besides, every time im in my shed of a company car, i wish i was in the scooby, especially when i get left for dead by some OAP in a rover metro LOL!
