Low interest rates force up property prices.
The property market is getting to a point where it's next to impossible to become a first time buyer, this isn't good for the country.
The unemployment figures are fiddled, they have been for years (including the Tories last spell in power). There are many people out of work or looking for work who are not 'allowed' to be counted.
Is that the best you have to offer?
Blair is full of idle promises. His 'jam tomorrow' can only fool some of the people some of the time, and that time's nearly up!

Inforcer, lewis claims to be a 75 year old nuclear scientist who makes missiles and lives in a £300,000 house. Dam expensive these nursing homes IMO but I'm sure he gets a TV licence flung in with the mashed bananas

Oi ps - so do you reckon the hospitals are much better? - waiting lists have actually increased under labour (they just force hospitals to fiddle the figures). Did you know what you're not officially on a waiting list until you've seen the consultant which in itself can take up to 18 months! I'm sure you'll soon find out that the treatment of the older generation in our hospitals is nothing short of a scandal. Labours idea to improve the NHS was to abolish tax relief on PMI - fecking stoopid or what as this put more people over 60 back into the health system. And who cost the most to treat - people over 60.
Dont think the streets are safer - crime is increasing!
Education improving??? hmmmn
And as for public transport - Labour are trying to tax us out of our cars, but whats the alternative? Sh1te buses and even worse trains.
Blair is a dumbfeck, a liar and has cheated us all in the search of personal glory. PRIZE **** IMO

There is a website somewhere that calculates that we effectively work for the government from 1st Jan to 31st June, thats how much tax we pay.
There is SO much wrong with our government that I can't even get started, but sadly there is no effective opposition to Labour !
Just take one item close to all our hearts...income Tax.
How can it be that the standard allowance per annum is around £4,600 - ie if you work 40hrs per week at anything over £2.20 per hour, you pay tax !
Anything over £29,400 and you pay 40% - FORTY F**KING PERCENT ! You can earn £30k relatively easy, surely this should be designed for those earning a little more than £14per hour ?!? And don't forget to add Nat Ins (another income Tax).....
Yup, crime is the way to go - you wont get taxed or caught ?!?
Matt

Tax is hideous, and nobody wants to pay it. But at the same time we all want services, be these health, education, defence .... so who is going to pay for them. Yes, it's true to say that there's incompetence in government, but the fact remains that it's probably no worse there than it is in any large organisation.
And would there be a change in the amount of tax under any alternative government? Would things get better? Think about the last Conversative government - they cut taxes and for a while everyone was happy. It's easy to boost short term profit (or in this case, reduce short term costs) by refucing your infrastructure spend
So the school playing fielsd and council houses got solf off, the hospitals didn't get refurbished, the rail service declined massively. Abd now these services have to be built back up again to any kind of reasoanbale standards.
To blame this government for spin, Iraq, cheesy grins .... all completely reasonable. To blame them for the very existence of tax is slightly unfair.

I think the point is that for all the Tax (Income and stealth) we have to pay there are no perceived benefits.
Nothing seems to improve, we just pay more amd more. Yet Blair can quite happily blow billions of *our* money on a war fought seemingly for his own glorification.
That, at least, is why I resent it so much.

I drive 30,000 mile pa just to get to work, my partner drives about half this.
Most of my journeys are by motorbike, some by car. Even taking into account the 'slightly' better fuel consumption of the bike and the fact that the car is a diesel this still means we face a £4000+ pa fuel tax (now even larger due to GB) just to get to work.
This is a significant portion of my earnings and at present I have no realistic options for changing this situation. I would love to find a good job nearer home but cannot due to the cost of housing.
So much for get 'on yer bike' to find work and so much for BLiars no increase in taxation pledge, he's a wan*er pure and simple![Frown](images/smilies/frown.gif)
Why cant we claim back fuel tax if we need to use our vehicles to travel to and from work from rural areas, that's what I want to know?

I agree there should be taxes, but we pay too much for too little - plain and simple. Plus it's heavily disproportionate, you and I pay for too many others !!!
I know there's two sides to every story, but we're paying for...
1) Immigrants. The rule is that those seeking asylum should go to the next safe country along - but they don't, they head for the cosy shores of blighty.
2) Freeloaders and system cheats.
3) Government. If government was a department in a major corpoation, it would NOT be allowed to run as fat and as costly as it does.
4) A totally inefficient health service.
5) Ambulance chasers. Someone is involved in a fender bender, gets a sore neck and a cheque for £10k - you and I pay for this in insurance. (Slightly off topic I know, but annoys me a lot.)
6) Defence. Don't get me wrong, I would rather we had a defence system than not, but it's a blank cheque for the govt. Something like £17bn per annum if I remember correctly.
Th list goes on...and on...and on... I NEED A BEER !
