And as one person at work pointed out, I'm comparing with what my living costs are which is wrong, they are up in Rochdale where the cost of living is not a patch on what it is down around the London area so the money they get equates to a hell of a lot more when you consider the north south divide!
I could live a luxurious life in the south with that sort of money even with 8 kids if spent wisely instead of booze and ****, let alone up in Rochdale!

What is there to chill out about Paul? They were scrounging off the state, end of story! They treated their kids health appallingly by smoking 60 a day in front of them when they are asthmatic Their language again in front of their kids was disgusting and if I ever met someone talking like that in front of children I would say something about it, and have done this in the past cos it ***** me right off Young kids are innocent and should stay that way for as long as possible and not be corrupted, least of all by their parents
They were scum, simple as that, not cos simply they were council tennants, but simply because of the way they acted! End of story!

I was glued to the programme and was astonished at how little trust there was between them. She was already worried about what woman was going to be living in her house before she even got packed!
She did not trust her jusband at all and she had 3 days of doing virtually nothing whilst the blond girl had 8 kids to look after and to cook (which she didn't normally do)!
It was certainly the talking point in the office today and last night the forums on channel4.com/wifeswap were fantastic. Everyone is in uprage about this family and their £37.5k in benefits, smoking around their children who have chronic asthma and the language was gutter mouth especially around children. No wonder kids today are rude, foulmouthed and spongers they have to take after someone!
God help us all!

I will point out though, that looking after 8 kids is no mean feat. TBH I've been thinking about the following:
1) What's the food bill like? Ours is about £500-£600 a month with 2 kids.
2) Clothes bill.
3) Imagine going out anywhere where kids don't go free. A visit to the zoo would set you back a couple of hundred quid![EEK!](images/smilies/eek.gif)
4) I reckon you'd either need an industrial-sized washing machine, or at least two of them
5) Same goes for the cooker -- need at least two ovens as you can't fit eight lots of dinner in the same one. Probably need giant saucepans and frying pans too![EEK!](images/smilies/eek.gif)
6) Imagine how long bathtime takes. No way you could get away with a single bathroom -- the door would always be locked!

Interesting this programme mentioned the money. Can't remember them doing that before.
Ever think the producer/director was p*ssed off at these scumbags probably getting more than him.
And about how much it would cost to keep 8 kids. Nowhere near the 3k a month these gits are getting. I sat watching the whole thing in disbelief. That slob of a woman was deffo unbalanced. And what about the hairpiece so that she looked even more attractive![Big Grin](images/smilies/biggrin.gif)

That lazy fat b!tch managed one day at work and oh look its failed. Surprised she didn't have a heart attack from the shock of having to go and do a days work
Bravo2zero...so you expect her to bring up 8 kids AND go to work at the same time?

No I expected her to play by the rules of the show, fair play if she had stuck out the 10 days and gone and done that womans job and everything else that was involved, but no she couldn't hack more than a day or two cos she is a lazy fat cow who survives by leaching off the state and is not prepared to give anything back, end of story Paul!
The story of having an astma attack shows what a lying devious lazy b!tch she is, has the audacity to sit there on camera saying she is off from work ill with a severe asthma attack but at them same time is smoking like a chimney ffs
Dregs of society is what she is, and unfortunately with her and her husband as role models I don't hold out much hope for the 8 kids!

First of all Bravo....chill mate. Its only tv.
lazy fat cow who survives by leaching off the state and is not prepared to give anything back,
The person you should be having a go at is her husband.Call me old fashioned but its still the main job of the guy to support his family.
Looking after 8 kids would test 95% of people here.I'll admit it,i couldn't do it.Could you?

How many of those kids do you presume were accidents Paul? None?
How many fathers do you think there are? Just the one?
She shouldn't have been allowed to have that many kids in the first place. I will be surprised if the State isn't picking up the tab for at least some of them in years to come.

Paulr it might be only TV to you but these people are real mate! They are living off peoples taxes who have been out and earn their dosh and then have to pay hard earned cash to support scum like them. Why do you think they have 8 kids? Because they earn them money! Do you think they would get that amount with only 2 or 3 kids? No they wouldn't and would have to go to work to earn some money to be able to afford their wiidescreen telly, leather sofas and hard wood floors! ![Roll Eyes (Sarcastic)](images/smilies/rolleyes.gif)
All they did was sit around all day drinking and smoking. You telling me that I am not justified in calling them lazy?
Can you explain to me what reasons you have for sticking up for them?

Well said B20.
Paul, just because they come from disadvantaged backgrounds shouldn't mean you hold them up as some sort of champions battling against the system, even if you can relate to that background more than some on here. People from those sorts of backgrounds certainly do NOT have to behave and live like that.
Dross is dross. And they were.

I believe that anyone who has kids but doesnt have a job to support them should not be allowed to have them. There will always be cases where people are genuinely too ill to work who have kids - fine but fooling a doctor with a back complaint is far too easy.
Same goes for alot (but not all) people on a 'job seekers' allowance - far to easy to **** up any job interview. If they cant get a job then get them sweeping the roads, or anything so that they pay their way. No excuses - nobody should get money for nothing.

I am sticking up slightly for her.
She is doing a job few of us could do,and that is looking after 8 kids.
Its her husband you should be having a go at.

I work with very long term unemployed people, day in day out. There is very little I dont know about scams, fiddling benefits and the reasons and methods people choose to avoid gainful employment.
Training for Work (TFW) and the JSA is simply a con to massage the unemployent figures as everyoone knows, no one actually becomes officially unemployed until they have been sitting on thier **** for more than 6 months. And lo and behold just before someone hits the 6 months point they are hoovered up by Jobcentre+ Staff (stupid name change)and fired onto some course or another. This course might last for a year, 6 months or it might only last a day, such as improving your CV etc. This will keep them off the unemployment statistics for another 6 months, and so it goes on, and on. No one needs to fluff up job interview because they never even get that far, nor do the hardcore ever want to. Its simply just too cushy living live on 'maxamised' benefits and most longterm unemployed know more about claiming benefits than I do.
I'm working with a guy ATM who has not been in paid employment for 18 years, yet he has never been 'officially' unemployed![Frown](images/smilies/frown.gif)
The New Deal was supposed to change all this but the 'harcore' unemployed are kept away from ND as they are seen as a waste of space by JC+ staff. Firing them onto TFW is much quicker, requires less effort and is effectively a rug to sweep under those who dont ever want to work for a living. Only the cream (i.e employable young people)actually benefit from ND, dealing with the dregs is simply not worth the hassle.
TFW is also optional, clients (I hate to use that word in this context) can leave whenever they want with no sanctions. JC+ never impose sanction anyway as it just makes their job harder and as they get paid a pittance anyhow its little wonder they dont bother or care.
When you hear about the 'official' (massaged) unemployment statistic remember, this is actully only a fraction of the people who are actually unemployed and claiming benefits.

I think Liz is unable to work due to the huge chip on her shoulder causing back pain and her husband was automatically considered mentally incapable once the DSS realised that he'd married Liz.

Part Of a webchat with Emma from Wife Swap
jess : How did you feel when you found out how much they earnt?
gailcarty : Were you astonished that they were living on benefits that amounted to 37K? I know I was absolutely gobsmacked!
Soo : Did it bother you that they earned more than you through benefits?
Emma : I was just amazed would be an under statement. I couldn't believe what I was reading so I had to read it over and over again. Then I realised that this must be equivalent to a £55,000 a year job because we have to pay tax and national insurance to get that kind of money.

Lizzie's Manual :
What tips can you give for coping with your other half?
Don't be patronising.
Don't tell, ask or suggest.
Let him think that he has come up with the idea.
Ahh she's not so bad

Why has this not hit the papers yet Everyone i have spoken to who saw this program are fuming (like me).
I keep checking the papers but nothing yet.
I earn just over 30K and the misses earns around 20 as a rep and we are about to have our second child whichis when she has decided she will stop going out to work and become a house wife.
Not only will we loose over a third of our income we will have to find money for 2 children and most probably a second car and part of my income will go to this pair of ******* wasters who havent even got respect for their own childrens health no ******* way is this fair on anyones scale of justice.
