I've Added the event to www.scoobyevents.co.uk hopefully it will bring in a few more people.

I've stressed that the date and time is not yet final.

Cheers

Bugger....

Just had a confirmation of a stay over course that I HAVE TO TAKE on both Saturday AND Sunday.

Absolutely, positively, utterly and 'sod Right Off' now way can I change the date. Typical. I'm sure they checked this post to screw up my one major organisational event of the year.

I mean, I screwed up the last one, and now they make me go and screw up again...

Lifes not worth living. Where's that Vodka and those pills?

**************

I've set the date as Sunday 26th, and I know I'm such a popular guy... but will anyone be turning up?

If there are to be large numbers (unlikely) then I can still pre-book a table for your roast.

Tearfully yours,

Al.

Edited to say.. Thanks Maddy, thats appreciated, hopefully the guys will still turn up.

Question

Anybody any idea of a kick-off time as Sunday may be free so far?

As I'm not going, this may be academic.

But I was going to arrange for 1:30.

This gave enough time to eat, drink, see the cars in daylight and be away (if you need) before the day is finished.

But feel free to arrange a time between yourselves if 1:30 is to early...

Al,

bit of a bummer you're not going after the setting up but had you arranged some grub like we had last time or is it more like order if required (probably more likely due to numbers / times etc)?

Apple

Just working out whether to have the roast etc before setting out

Hi m8.

The numbers I got back didn't warrant any special ordering.

Not everyone was making positive noises in comming, so it was turning out to be a 'wait and see' exercise.

Definate/Highly Prabable names so far are;

You
Madgrip
Maddy
Kingy
Harry on his bike

Possibles...

Kev with his 'tesco grass verge' 4x4
Corrado Boy and Girl
Scoobynson
J4ck5on

So I would count on 5, with hopefully a few extra to make up the numbers.

My plan would be to play it relaxed and by ear, and order your food when everyone arrives and is settled down with a drink after checking the motors out (1:30 arrive and get your grub at 2-2:30).

You may find that organising a time (for those small numbers) would place to much pressure on people to turn up and they would inevitably say they couldn't go to save any hassle. If people are a little late then they can still order.

If LOADS were coming, then some prior calls to the chef for a bigger cow would be neded..

I'll keep popping in here daily to ensure that things are OK as I don't want to lumber anyone with the job...

cheeky get.

The car will be getting some real grief when ity goes off road but one of the main reasons for buying is to tow the kit car when it is stripped down for race days.

Kev.

P.S. When it doesn't have the car on it the boot will contain

1 black Lab
1 Barbour farmers jacket
1 flat cap

lol @ Kev ...

I'm glad you took that as a jolly jape.. especially as you forgot that you could pack the shotgun in the back as well!

I've done some 'proper' driving off road and I'm very jealous that you'll be using the 4x4 properly too... Enjoy it mate.

Unhappy

sorry about this but it looks like I'll probably have to pull out as my dad had a heart attack on Thursday and is critical in hospital

life's on hold a bit at the moment and we're sat by the phone for any "developments" so can't stray too far away

hopefully next time...

It may end up just being 5 of us (including me), aye it's a poor turnout in theory but will still show my support to help keep this West Yorkshire meet running, These kind of meets have potential they start of being small and before you know it end up being 50 deep.

Sorry, it was just too much with a 13 1/2hr sat night, starting again at 6 sun and the rallying on at 3.10. I'll promise to be at the next one. Winding down now, I fly to Fuertaventura on wednesday

Harryboy, I'll bring your pics back to the next one.

Hi guys... Been a touch busy and not able to get online much... When I did, there wasn't much to reply too.

I'm glad to see that there is still some interest.....

To be honest, its confusing about who wants weekdays and weekends...?

Unfortunately we aren't going to be able to satisfy all with both dates... but to me (even though weekends is better for viewing) it seems that more would prefer the weekdays?

How about a show of hands knocking the Sunday on the head....getting back to the old Weeekday evening and just look at the cars in the dark...

We can still go for the day meet when there is a particular scooby meet on... Elvington stylee...

If we agree.. then lets go for a Wednesday 26th or Thursday 27th November. The reason I say Thursday is that I think Martin (J4CK5ON) has probs with football training on Wednesdays...

I'm OK for either... get your names down...
